On a conference call with media, #MNUFC technical director said Vito Mannone has turned down an improved second offer. The team has been looking at other "secondary targets of very good quality."— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) January 9, 2020
Not sure if a bonafide rumor, or just wishful projecting.
Superdraft, round 4: pick 88, Matthew Bentley, Missouri State - https://missouristatebears.com/sports/mens-soccer/roster/matthew-bentley/5453 pick 96, Andrew Booth, Florida International - https://fiusports.com/sports/mens-soccer/roster/andrew-booth/7449
Per sources, #MNUFC is set to sign James Musa on a free transfer. Musa projects to play as a center mid and nearly anywhere on the backline. The #USL veteran spent the last two years with #PHXRisingFC, made 1 MLS appearance for SKC, and is in possession of his green card.— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) January 14, 2020 I wouldn't expect him to be a regular starter, but Musa is essentially a younger player filling the role Olum played for #MNUFC last year. Lots of opportunities for games with league play, #USOC2020, and... the 2020 Leagues Cup! https://t.co/YVZEz5yT5c— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) January 14, 2020
We have a goalie BREAKING: @MNUFC gets its new goalkeeper: He's LAFC's Tyler Miller sources say— Jerry Zgoda (@JerryZgoda) January 16, 2020 I can confirm this. Minnesota United is sending $150,000 in GAM in 2020 and $50,000 in TAM in 2021 to LAFC for the rights to Tyler Miller, per sources. https://t.co/eMKvcRUPji— Paul Tenorio (@PaulTenorio) January 16, 2020
Solid move by the Loons. Cheaper than Mannone, but not a big drop in quality (arguably no drop - some say the key to Mannone's success last season was Opara in front of him, and Ozzie in front of Opara). Six years younger, so maybe a long-term solution. Still waiting for them to announce the Paraguayan!
Miller has signed a new contract with Minnesota that would keep him with the club through 2022 with a club option for an additional year.— Minnesota United FC (@MNUFC) January 16, 2020 With some of the details.
make that another 🥝we've signed defensive midfielder James Musa pic.twitter.com/g6ZZ0KcWy7— Minnesota United FC (@MNUFC) January 17, 2020 Official now.
BTW...is anyone else besides me more than a bit nervous about handing the keys to the offense over to a very unproven Chacon? Kevin Molino at the #10 as Plan B?
They are looking for a DP 10. They see Chacon as more a winger. I would not be surprised if they hold off until summer, if they think they can get someone better in that window. Kevin can at least be serviceable there. Same with Lod....at least he is always drifting in.
#MNUFC manager Adrian Heath tells ESPN that he expects the Loons to sign a DP attacker in "the next 7-10 days." This is separate from Amarilla. I'm also told Tyler Miller's new deal will pay more than $300k per season.— Jeff Carlisle (@JeffreyCarlisle) January 17, 2020
⚠️ TRADE ⚠️We've acquired midfielder @JacoriHayes via trade from @fcdallas pic.twitter.com/wXGzpLsW9t— Minnesota United FC (@MNUFC) January 21, 2020 So, um...what did we trade? EDIT: From FC Dallas FC Dallas has traded midfielder Jacori Hayes to Minnesota United FC in exchange for Minnesota’s third round 2021 MLS SuperDraft pick, the club announced today. The third round pick will become a second round pick if Hayes meets certain performance-based metrics next season while with Minnesota. Additionally, FC Dallas could receive up to $100,000 in Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) if Hayes meets certain performance metrics while with Minnesota United next season. A Collin Martin replacement, I guess.
Low risk move. If he's not useful, they've given up a crapshoot pick (so much so that most teams passed in the 3rd round this year). If he's useful, it might turn into a second or a second plus some TAM - to me, worth the cost.
Already training. well hello, Jacori #MNUFC | @BlueCrossMN pic.twitter.com/ERb5DDzGjO— Minnesota United FC (@MNUFC) January 21, 2020
Adrian Heath after training said @MNUFC still intend to make 3-4 other moves. Those likely are: Paraguayan striker Luis Amarilla, a DP attacking midfielder, a center back from the same French league where Romain Metanire played.— Jerry Zgoda (@JerryZgoda) January 21, 2020
I would just like to point out that intending to make moves and making those moves are two diffetent things. In other words, Gilligan says hello, Inchy.
From Greder article The other one would be a bigger catch: a central attacking midfielder commanding one of the three top-level Designated Player salaries. United technical director Mark Watson has traveled to South America this week to try to secure the deal
