If our midfielders and forwards wouldn't keep losing the ball the defenders wouldn't have to constantly play catch up. If anyone feels plata and yura are good forwards they don't know what soccer is! They are a disgrace to be called DP's and to be Real forwards! Why so many injured players?. Real should question what the trainer and fitness coach are doing. An example for the wonderful forwards. At 64 mins a midfielder gave the ball to Yura. Of course he tries dribbling through three players an loses it and now everyone is running back on defense.
Disagree. Rimando and Beckerman are the team's weakest links. Rimando has been increasingly making ill advised passes out of the back and Beckerman does not have any sense of the flow of the game, the runs of his teammates, nor control over his body. I don't want Beckerman on RSL in 2018.
Anyone else think that Almiron has one of those faces that just needs to be slapped regularly? I've thought this for a few weeks now.
That was, finally, some soccer by RSL in this game. Phillips tenacity, wise passes by Plata & Mulholland and Rusnak found just the right place.
To be fair, my post was based on the starting eleven, prior to play. Who could foresee Kyle and Nick playing like they have?
Honestly, I think that Rimando really looked bad in this game prior to his getting injured. Both of Atlanta goals were from miscues from Rimando. It's unusual to see him this far off his game so I wonder if he's been carrying an injury.

I agree that he made bad decisions. I think a detailed root cause analysis would point to the lack of dependable outlets.
A very poor showing or signs of how low they've fallen? I think a bit of both. It's going to be a long and ugly season.
Our defense is an absolute joke. I don't think I can put it on any one person, aside from maybe Wingert who knows he shouldn't be there either. Our defensive organization is a shambles. Everyone is hurt. This is going to be another major rebuilding year. We need serious reinforcements in back and DM. Just play all the kids. I'm ready to throw in the towel and cheer to not get shut out, just like '05 - '07.
I know people will try to take positives in how tenaciously RSL fought during the late first half and much of the second half. Fact is, the team was outclassed by Atlanta, an expansion club in the middle of a lengthy road trip (because Georgia Tech's stadium is unavailable). Excepting our top few players (Rusnak, Lennon, Saucedo), Atlanta's players were better than ours at similar positions. The outcome fit the relative skill of the two teams.
