What do you mean? If you go to the official RSL page, you have a prominent link to the "Kickin' it with Esky" blog. Maybe Jeff Cunningham has a blog they can link to as well....
Hands off Reinaldo, Roar chief says Reinaldo Elias da Costa Funny thing is the other night i couldn't sleep an saw some highlights of the Australian Football League that show cased him.
Interesting piece from Ives comparing, in part, RSL's trade for Freddy with Colorado's trade for Christian Gomez: There's a Sucker Born . . .
I don't recall that being a "failed" trade! I think they should change that saying to... "there is a Fernando Clavijo born every minute"
He may think RSL is a sucker, but remember we sent Jay Nolly to DC for Nik Rimando. Who was the sucker in that part of the deal?
Yes but we don't care about whether it failed for the cRapids any more than we can have a good laugh at their expense...
Ives is an idiot who just happens to have a syndicated column. There are a few of those out there, he just happens to be the only one who really covers soccer in the US. All you really need to know about Ives is that he's a NYRB fan, to me that's enough to write him off for the most part. Goff from the Washington Post is a much better source. Usually if Goff says it, it may as well be engraved on stone tablets. Ives is wrong more than he is right.
Anybody else see this??? RSL to Close Sunshine State Camp with Exhibition v. Rapids on Feb. 22 Real Salt Lake has announced that the club will close out the second camp of the club's 2008 preseason schedule next Friday, Feb. 22, with an exhibition contest against its archrival, the Colorado Rapids. The Rocky Mountain Cup preview will take place at the Central Broward Regional Park cricket stadium in Lauderhill, Fla. (corner of Sunrise Blvd. and State Road 7), with kick-off slated for 7:30 p.m. ET (9:30 p.m. MT). For those in the area, tickets for adults are $10, while kids will be admitted for $5. For more information on the exhibition, including how to purchase tickets, please call 954-321-1170.
Yep. Even though its preseason, it would still be nice to annihilate them. Wish I was able to take a week off of work and go down there. It'd be great to see this match and all of the players. I'm especially interested in seeing Indra, and seeing Cordoba and Ian Joy in action for the first time.
Garth was just on the Bill Riley show. Here is the information that was new to me. Nat Borchers - He has a knock on his ankle they are concerned about. Willis Forko - Waived today. Playing Municipal (spelling?) while in Florida - They had just finalized this a little earlier today.
Two articles on Nat Borchers' signing: http://www.sltrib.com/realsaltlake/ci_8268975 http://deseretnews.com/article/1,5143,695253379,00.html The James Edward article from the Deseret News it the more detailed article, and includes tidbits (that we already know) about Matias Cordoba's visa and Willis Forko's release.
Chris Lancos released from RSL camp (to search for other options) Note: this and other training camp nuggets on James Edward's newly-created RSL Blog on DeseretNews.com. Highly recommended.
Given the depth we have on the back line now, this is not really a surprise. Not being able to mark at this level is not excusable.
Didn't really see that one coming although with the talent we have in the back and defensive mid right now its not too surprising. Good find...
I didn't really expect that but like others have stated it isn't really a shock for some reason. What Municipal team are they playing in FL?
The great Guat club CSD Muni. But according to a late James Edward report, the scheduled scrimmage might get scrapped.
I really hope he keeps up the good work with the blogging. What a great asset this will be for the rest of us.
