SKC brings in 5 dump trucks of dry ice to create "icy tundra" field conditions. RSL loses after several possible game-winning shots hit the post or crossbar. Yes, I am still bitter over a year after the game-that-shall-not-be-named.
You forgot something...'Matt Besler shaves his head before the game to set a new "we're tough" fashion statement. He then proceeds to take out Allen and gets by without a card after his apparently emmy award winning "what did I do" performance afterward'
Thanks for reminding us all of why we loathe this team ******** KC Still can't believe we didn't win that final. The goddamn posts were better than pretty much every SKC player out there. This one feels like a certain loss to me. Our tactics haven't handled pressure all that well. If KC does anything well, it's press the ******** out of the opposing team. I'd love to be wrong (I was last week) about end result, but I think the undefeated run ends here. Formation I'd use: Nicky Tony Schu Olave Phillips* Luke Javi KB Allen Sabo Garcia Bench: JeffA, Vasquez, Mansally*, Stertzer, Pecka, Gil, Sandoval *Mansally moves to starter if Phillips can't go. *If Phillips can't make 18, move Maund to the bench
Yeah, if Philly can't hold a lead, how can we. 15's point about pressure is well made. They had us crapping ourselves last year. Any point(s) would be good point(s).
I have a bad feeling about this game. It would be nice to simply see RSL just dominate a game without worrying or spending the entire game at the edge of my seat. I don't think this is that game though.
SKC has been a disaster so far, only getting points because of shear luck (ie Philly vs RSL). If we don't get at least a point I'll be disappointed. We seem to have some decent rhythm going now.
I guess you can say that since you no longer have Wingert to try and intentionally take someone out 10 seconds into the game!
It's too late to apologize. I've already slashed my wrists in anguish. I'm not traveling for this one. Thought I'd bleed out on this bus instead.
This thread took an unnecessary EMO turn... Back to the game - I'm not sure describing SKC as a "disaster" is fair. That description belongs to the one and only cRapids. Scored any goals lately, cRapids? Didn't think so. I will withhold any optimism about this game until the lineup is released. If Mansally's name is on it, RSL will finish the match with 10 men and likely lose. Phillips is still pretty much an unknown entity, but I would like to believe that he is at least capable of playing the position. Mulholland must be on the pitch. RSL is better with him. What that means for Gil is really anybody's guess. Personally, I prefer Gil to Allen, but not in that position. If RSL were to go back to a 4-4-2 diamond (LMFAO), then a midfield of Becks, Gil on the left, Mulholland on the right and Morales would be my pick at this point. But I digress... I think Allen has talent, but is not ready for prime time. I don't trust him with the ball at his feet, particularly when being pressured on the sideline. Sure, he made a nice run and finished a great cross, but that doesn't earn him a starting role. TL;DR version - Expecting an RSL loss. Hoping for Phillips over Mansucky. Long live rock.
This kind of talk from a fan of a team with Espinoza on the roster is quite amusing. He's at a Steven Lenhart level of douche-baggery.
My predictions for the game: RSL 10-10 SKC (Numbers of players still on the field after ejections) RSL 3-4 SKC (Number of yellow cards issued) RSL 0-1 SKC (Goals scored)
Espindola injures himself doing a flip after scoring a goal that gets called off. Mathis gets sent off after slamming the ball down after a poor call. Morales scores again off of a set piece.
How does Allen get ready for prime time if not given the chance? Nothing you do in training will develop your game as well as actually playing a match. Allen isn't so awful that he becomes a nuisance out there. I think giving him the start is actually a brilliant move given it develops him and we are still able to play at a fairly high level. And if scoring a game winning goal with like 45 minutes of total playing means he isn't ready for prime time, call me excited
He earned the start against SJE. I agree, it was a good move to boost his confidence. However, I don't think his performance as a starter was good enough to place him ahead of anyone else competing at the various positions he plays. That said, I would be interested in trying him at fullback until Phillips is healthy. In answer to your question about how he gets ready for prime time - Monarchs, and bring him in for USOC and mid-week matches. Don't get me wrong, I'm rooting for the kid, but he just hasn't blown me away yet.
I don't know what to make of SKC. Granted, I've only watched them play Philly and that's a whole other dumpster fire. 2-2 draw.
Uuuh that's not how it works. As an RSL fan you are obligated to esteem him, after one important goal, as the greatest young player RSL has ever seen.
