Looks like we are not going to make it to the game tonight. Stuff. I have 3 tickets available Section 25 Row H on the aisle. That's 8 rows up. Great seats if I do say so myself. The tickets are free if needed or if you feel so inclined I will take money for them. Either works for me. Seriously. Somebody use these tickets. Think of the children, and Chris Wingert. Message me and I can email them to you from the flash seats app.
Ummm . . . Rimando Demar Glad Horst Lennon Beckerman Kreilach Rusnak Savarino Ortuno Saucedo No Plata on the bench.
Plata is apparently in Petke's doghouse again (or so suggest the Twitterverse). Might have something to do with him telling the Univision crew last week he wants to go to LigaMX - it was stated on the broadcast).
Wait, what? Lennon is a starting defender...? And Plata is in the doghouse? This should be an interesting game.
Maybe it's just Acosta in the doghouse (still not starting when healthy, giving Lennon the nod instead)? If so, whence Plata?
Maddie Lee (on Twitter) is saying "Bofo Saucedo starts in place of Joao Plata (hamstring)." She also reports Pablo Ruiz has replaced Silva on the bench.
I have the NYRB broadcast; they spent the first two minutes talking about referee Ted Unkel's propensity for calling penalties, and then RB committed the penalty about ten seconds later.
Some decent play towards the end of the half, but compared to last week, this was fabulous. Are we wasting time?
Feels like we have been waisting time since scoring the penalty. Trying to burn out the clock for 96 minutes
The biggest differences I see from last week (and the week before, to a certain extent) is we are quicker to challenge for all balls and Beckerman is playing much better, or at least making a meaningful difference through his play.
Wonder what's up with Nick that he isn't taking goal kicks. . . . but he obviously feels good enough to make incredible saves still.
Here's the first bit of fun for the second half: Corey Baird is making his debut, on for an injured Seba Saucedo.
Whatever Danny did to anger Petke, I sure hope he rights that wrong, and soon. I can't take much more of Demar. Here comes BWP for Red Bulls.
I've enjoyed Baird. And that attempted tackle near midfield is one of the reasons why: he missed the tackle, got up, and sprinted back to be the one slowed/stopped the attack.
Release the Kreilachan! I've been pretty worried about his play but he seemed to settle into his place in this game, especially the second half. Baird was fun to watch too. A defensive victory for sure but we've got to figure out how to be dangerous and get some control in the final third.
