Ok, I'll get us started considering that the game is tomorrow. Considering how RSL "ended" the game against Orlando that's exactly how I expect them to continue at Cincinnati tomorrow. There are definitely some bright spots on the team but not enough to fill me with any confidence whatsoever. This team as 1 point on the road after 4 matches away and I doubt it will change tomorrow. With Everton out, for what was reported as an ankle injury but I could be wrong, I expect RSL to give up lets say 3 goals and accidentally score 1. I go with an own goal. Yep, own goal. So 3-1 to Cincy and RSL continues its "knack" for getting the crap kicked out it by expansion clubs. EMBRATSU
This is the game thread I've been waiting on all season. As you all know, I'm originally from Cincy so I'm super conflicted about this game. Good news is that I can root for a tie but I'm also firmly on the Petke Out bus that a loss might be okay too. FC Cincinnati is not a bad team. They looked really stout against LAFC last week and that was without Garza and limited minutes from Victor Ulloa. Darren Mattox is a decent striker and Kenny Saif was a good pickup at the No. 10. Look out for Allen Cruz and Matieu Deplagne as well. Both have been key players for FCC thus far. If Deplagne and Manneh are lined up against Lennon, I don't like RSL's chances. However, Sam Johnson could be a thread against the FCC center backs. I doubt anyone on the forum is going to the game but if you are, hit me up for some recommendations.
So who are you rooting for, @CrazyJ628? On which side of the center stripe do your loyalties really lie? Cincy 2 - 0 RSL. Kyle gets booted in the 60th minute. One red card and three yellows total, all R - S - L SALT LAKE!
I'm guessing that RSL pulls an Arabe Unido and descends en masse on a Skyline Chili location and eats so much that they are even slower/more stationary than normal. FC Cincinnati will slalom through the Claret and Cobalt traffic cones and score more or less at will.
I'm just hoping that the rain stops in time for kickoff, because the weather here has been awful today. And I am too old to be sitting out in terrible weather for two hours. Not my thing anymore.
This is the main way I have tracked my aging - or maybe I'll go with "maturity." I no longer feel obligated to do stuff in lousy weather (it helps that HDTV is a thing).
Article on KSL in light of today’s match: https://www.ksl.com/article/4653417...g-with-fc-cincinnati-clubs-show-future-of-mls I’m only sharing because the article’s first line has an odd word choice—perhaps a Freudian slip or maybe commentary on an oral dysfunction Alexi Lalas is currently struggling with.
Well, I guess it took him long enough to finally tour the academy. Maybe if RSL was on national TV more, he might have been able to see it earlier.
The article goes on to say Lalas was disappointed "in a good way". Basically he's jealous MLS didn't have this in his day. Maybe that's enough to keep someone from smiling?
His shtick in the interview with Dunny was very much along these lines. Would've worked as a 30-second bit; he kept it up much of the interview.
Talking in the pregame about a Beckerman-Kreilach pairing in the midfield. Maybe it’ll work this time?
Did not travel with the team. My guess is he picked up a knock last match and is taking the game off.
Whoa. That stat on corners conceded is yikes. What was it, most conceded by like 12, followed immediately by... 5 corners in a row so far.
LOL @ Mattocks trying to impede Putna’s release and then complaining about Putna holding on to the ball for so long.
Baird is ready to defend and mix it up with FCC’s defenders and mids, just needs to be careful with those hands and studs.
