And the pass from Herrera to Sava to start it was excellent. So far Toia/Herrera > Herrera/ Lennon. But the opponent has something to do with that.
Agreed, it is difficult to know how much about our defense we can credit to better organization and personnel, and how much to Orlando being not good. But this back four ought to start at Cincinnati on Friday so we can add to the data.
Sava is gassed and needs to be subbed out ASAP. He’s putting a good shift. His defending tonight was much improved over previous performances this season.
A few thoughts at the 74th minute: -Dom Dwyer is a tool -Toia does not seem confident on the ball at all -Passing in and around the box has been much improved, imo
Agreed, and so Toia is playing much more like a classic fullback than an attacking back like we typically play. But that is working well tonight. So many attackers on now for Orlando that we should get some good breakaway chances.
Watch more closely, that wall swayed away from the kick and created the opening that Nani's ball sailed through.
How have we fallen apart here since the goal? No good clearances, no possession, nothing other than OCSC's ineptitude saving us.
I know Will Johnson is a villain now, but you have to love his work ethic. Obviously gassed and still running his ass off. [emoji122]
That was huge - both the foul call (which, well, I don't know) and then Nedum getting a piece of that ball before Dwyer did.
I doubt he’s a villain. Most people around me in the stands didn’t even know he was on the field. When he wiped out Nick I simply said, “He’s always been competitive.”
Around the league, he has been considered a villain for a decade, whether playing for us, Portland, Toronto, or Orlando.
