2019 MLS Regular Season – Week 30 Real Salt Lake vs. LA Galaxy Rio Tinto Stadium – Sandy September 25 – 7:30 PM MDT I know it's two whole days before THE BIGGEST REGULAR SEASON GAME OF THE YEAR, A MUST-WIN IF WE WANT ANY CHANCE AT HOSTING IN THE PLAYOFFS*, but I thought we might as well get the discussion going early. We do tend to be a little casual about getting to our seats by game time, after all. Hard to tell which teams will show up. The Gals have won their last two but were stinkin' it up before that. It looks like they will have that Zalaton Iblamonich guy playing for them this time. Which kind of sucks for us. They beat us 2-1 at their house in April, so hopefully we can return the favor. We've got most of our boys available, haven't been playing badly (if you overlook that 3-1 game with the Loons), and thanks to some savvy rotation in the NER game, we might be better rested. We've got the altitude working for us and can hope the Gals stop by Chuck-a-Rama for a quick bite on the way to the game. Tickets have been selling pretty well and there's that 2009 MLS Cup Team Get-Together thing, which is before the game, I think. That should be fun to watch so hopefully the club gets the word out and we get a good crowd out early. *maybe

The team website has some (brief) details about the pregame thing tonight. I'm not sure how long they expect it to take. It's dumb to not do this at halftime, IMO. You know this fanbase struggles to get to weekend games on time, now you want them early to a Wednesday game that is at 7:30 as opposed to 8, like in the summer? That's dumb. Javi's name/number are being put up at halftime - that's smarter. Would have been a cool night for RSL to break out the 2009 retro jerseys and wear the names of those players that played in the final, to really honor them. Rusnak in the Morales shirt. Onuhoa in the Olave shirt. Glad in his dad's. KB would just have to find it in his laundry...

So, unless I heard it incorrectly, the LA Galaxy announcing team suggested that Beckerman was in his last season. It's also possible that they did say it as I heard it, but are mistaken. I googled and got no confirmation. ??
