I was a non-traditional student - already married - so I just went for the quality of life and education rather than the parties. I just saw something I didn't like from Martinez: when subbed off, he lollygagged as if we were ahead late instead of tied and in real need of a result.
Kreilach nailed THAT header! LOL at Eriksson with the bear hug on KB5 that the ref can’t see right in front of the goal.
This really didn't look like the San Jose I've been watching this season. Those few absences really hurt.
Biggest three points of the year! Gotta feel pretty good about making the playoffs now. Thank You Colorado and Houston.
Why? IMO he was terrible. Zero aerial game, poor touch, no dribble game. He did show speed on a few occasions, but I don't think it's a coincidence that RSL started to control the match when he exited. Edit - didn't really watch him with the Monarchs much, but I hope this wasn't representative of his abilities.
I thought he played well. Good movement off the ball including finding space in the box, but his teammates couldn’t find him. He needs time on the pitch and with his teammates is the main thing. I agree he needs work on his aerial game. I thought the late game attacks looked good because of Lennon’s play. He hustled and his crosses were finding targets.
He didn’t look at ano of the others or get any message. He was by far the closest one to the play, about 10 yards away. His view was blocked. He saw a guy go down and called a foul.
they have headsets so as to be able to keep their eyes on the pitch/action. I did a game as an official a few weeks back at the academy, on the Monarchs pitch, with a guy who does Monarch games all the time and is working to be an MLS ref. The amount of communication he demanded out of us, as AR's, was awesome. Multiple fouls were called by him where he said "I'm blocked from view, help me here". That way I didn't have to raise a flag, I could just tell him yeah thats a foul and we went with it. The 4th official made a call last night in the game for a SJ throw where both the AR and the center were blocked from view of the ball being deflected by an RSL player. Thats how this is supposed to work. I thought the ref was fine last night, and in fact was pretty lenient on yellow cards towards us (everton, in particular). I'd also like if the club would put a stop to the stupid "ref you suck" chant. What is the point of the pregame video where it says no verbal abuse towards players and referees if you're going to let that be the loudest chant of the night.
