Edit: the above post was moved here from another thread. In the other thread it was pointed out that if LAG wins, they will actually be in 2nd due to having one more actual win. The teams would be tied in points
In the 93rd of 5 minutes of added time and the score tied 1-1 I’m just going to watch Baird and Johnson so that I don’t miss the sweet game winner.
So, I haven't been watching other teams this season. Is Seattle any good? If memory serves, we lost in April in a close match. So, has anything changed that would make this game today any more or less competitive, for either side?
RSL 0 - 3 Seattle, due to players' distractions. Goals by Lodeiro, Shipp and Morris. Yellow card to Kyle so he'll miss Saturday's game. Here's a preview of the game through emerald-tinted glasses.
I didn't realize Morris "has been in a rich vein of form." I don't understand that phrase exactly, but it sounds ominous for our chances. I guess he'll be mining that vein for nuggets of hat tricks tonight. Or maybe he'll uncover a wide seam of goal coal to strip mine, and it will catch fire from his hot streak and RSL will choke on its metaphorical noxious gasses.
Mixed bag from them this year, for sure. They currently sit second in the West, but as we all know, it's LAFC and a bunch of dorks in the West right now. They only got 1 point in their last 2 home games, so they are desperate to make up ground. I expect a hard fought game, but still lacking the pace of a weekend game
Personally, I didn't think of that vein, either Especially with my established sense of humor, y'all should know Nothing is to low brow for me I find humor in the dumbest of jokes S
These are two super important games, so Freddy has his work cut out for him. I don't see how he can play the same lineups in any of the three games. I'm hopeful, in fact, that he rotates some of the older legs tonight so they can rest up for Saturday's really big test. The XI I would roll out: Johnson* Baird Rusnak Savarino Everton Besler* Toia Onuhoa* Glad Herrera Nicky *If Johnson isn't even 60 fit, then Bofo should start out left and Baird up top. Kreilach needs the night off - I'm still not sure how his ankle is attached *Besler took a heavy hit in the KC game, as well, so he might not be able to go. However, these are exactly the type of games KB has to be rotated. There is no way he can play at the level we need in both this game and LAFC as a starter. *I really hope Onuhoa is fit enough to go. I've liked the play of Silva, but a rotation back there is warranted. Freddy has a lot of tough choices here. Big test right out the gate
If Juarez sits Beckerman and RSL loses, the peanut gallery will lose its collective mind. Oh, and I tried to work the word "throbbing" into my mining mixed metaphor and kept grossing myself out. So thanks for that.
Do they still stream the games on KSL.com? Home games? I'm stuck at the office tonight and I'm thinking espn+ will black out the game (the Colorado game is currently).
ESPN+ blackouts make zero sense. “Hey, we’re going to put you on the streaming source, but you can’t watch it in your market even though no one else is carrying the game.”
I have a lunch riding on this game. Running bet with a friend in Seattle. I haven't had to pay up for a few years now. Come RSL.
Good to find it on KSL, as I am blacked out on ESPN too. This time because of Seattle, which has a Washington-wide geoblock so we'll all pay for YouTube TV instead.
Kreilach and Everton in the middle. Good to know that Juarez isn't afraid to bench Beckerman when it's the obvious and logical decision. Also, I didn't know that Seattle plays a christmas tree formation. Does this work? Seems suuuper boring.
Sounders are down a whole pile of central defenders (top three from the start of the year) so their tactics will differ tonight. Bummer for Nick Besler, who I have liked in the d-mid sub role recently. Time to step up for Mr. Portillo.
