No idea why, but I am optimistic about a road win in this one - and after not getting full points against Minnesota last weekend, getting three from another 4-8th place Western Conference team is a must. Striker continues to be a real problem with Sam Johnson out; I would be tempted to give Tate Schmitt the start to have someone who is actually a center forward on the pitch instead of Damir or Baird.

That'd be nice! It's hard to judge since RSL has only had a few days rest and Dallas hasn't played since Saturday. Maybe Dallas will be cold. Maybe RSL will stay hot. Maybe we can keep Pomykal off the board this time. Should be a good game either way.

Just looked it up. RSL is 1-14-3 in Dallas!! Yeah a win would be nice.

Texas and Canada. We're just not very good in either place.

I am no longer so optimistic, and not because of the suspension. Well, partly. It's not something where an early coach got suspended for trying to improve and doing dumb things (hello, Jason Kreis) but where a guy is so frustrated with the lack of elan surrounding our team that he does dumber things like go after the match officials. So here we go, with cats and ducks in the team-issued lineup which would be cute to me if we were playing more inspiring soccer.

Did the RSL broadcast announce where Rusnak is? I have the FCD broadcast, which did not.

    Weird playing without either a 9 or a 10.

Decent first 20 minutes - 4 shots to 0 for Dallas, decent possession, nothing dangerous on their end.

Great save from Jesse Gonzalez on a Marcelo Silva header. That came from a good run into the box from Everton that turned into a corner.

That would have been a nice way to end the half. Solid, unspectacular half.

That shot had back of the net written all over it. Excited for the 2nd half.

Poor Baird can't even score on an open chance from the penalty spot.

This can't be a foul, he wasn't touched.

VAR once again kind to us. I think if the initial call was penalty, it would have stood on review, but it wasn't clearly and obviously a penalty, so the review could not overturn it.

Damir got a little too cute on that one instead of taking a shot in the box.

I admit I see/saw Baird as being gassed and ready for a sub, but I did not expect the third defensive midfielder as the way we'd go. Locking down for the road point and shutout.
