Putna inspires so little confidence in me; I hope the team feels it though.

 

Anyone else think this game may have been a little more of a fair fight with RSL a man down. Rapids look terrible so far, which is far from surprising.

 

Defense fell apart... nothing worse than giving up a goal in closing minutes of a half in which you hold a 2:0 lead. Hope is given... ugh!

 

LOUSY from Glad, who could have blasted it out for a throw-in but instead left it sitting on the penalty spot. L O U S Y.

 

Fair fight? This is the Rapids we are talking about!

 

Someone called this a trap game? 2-0 only increases that potential as far as I'm concerned with RSL getting lazy and now the snare is triggered just before halftime. This is where coaching at the break can make a big difference. I'm very curious to see the first 15 of the second half.

 

Watched it again; it's even L O U S I E R on the replay.

RSL might have done better with a red to Glad. They've played horrible since that point.

 

Great assist aside, the defensive midfield pairing of Besler and Kreilach is pretty bad.

 

Putna got totally taken off the field by a Rapid player on that goal

 

Neither have any bite.

 

Sam Johnson . . . gotta hand it to the guy. His conversion rate on shots is ridiculously good.

Toia was beaten badly on that play.

 

Kamara let us off, completely. Good on Putna for holding his ground.

Our center looks shaky. No idea why Besler let the ball drop as it came back in following the PK save - he was standing there seemingly preparing to head it clear.

 

No... Colorado upped their intensity a ton.

 

Plata's shot off the post plus the nice save by Howard on Johnson's shot - either would have sealed this. Ten to go.

 

This would be a terribly disappointing ending to this game. Clear cut?

Are we playng an 8 - 1 - 1? And surprised we can't keep the ball but are instead under heavy pressure?

 

Well, three points are three points, but this was a highly unsatisfying game in a lot of ways.

 

Biggest negative for me, I think we emptied the VAR karma bank for the season.

 

In retrospect, and in real time, subbing Johnson for Silva wasn't great.

 

Johnson off was fine - he was standing still more or less - but Portillo on and pushing Kreilach up would have been better IMO.
