Weird lineup up the middle = open spaces for Minnesota. Herrera drifted back to far, for no cause, and kept Ibarra onside. Someone needs to tell Ruiz to quit kicking the ball upfield to nobody.
Hard to believe how a team can look so good in the first half, and so shitty in the second. Pulling Rusnak may prove really costly. One point tonight may be a good result.
I blame @15 to 32 for choosing the U game over this one. Glad was lazy on that one, calling for the offside instead of playing.
wow! what a VAR experience. Ibarra was on, but Quintero was off, who came in from offside to make the flick to Ibarra.
Don't understand why Plata stayed in the whole game, he was completely gassed for the final 15. Non of the subs made sense to me.
And he was complete crap most of the game. He would have been my first sub. It looked like he wanted to win the game all by himself. Time after time he kept the ball too long and stifled possible opportunities. This game definitely needed much more Sava and a whole lot less Plata. RSL gets up by one goal and they think their Man freakin’ City and can just dribble out the last 50-60 minutes. I don’t know what the deal was but it looked liked they were told NOT to go forward. Time after time the let counter attacks go away because the couldn’t or wouldn’t push forward. They looked like they forgot what makes them dangerous and it’s not playing backwards. These are 2 points that could determine not only seeding in the playoffs but whether or not they even make the playoffs. As much as I have lamented the drop off in Kyles play this season if there ever was an example of how much he still means to this team that second half was it. It was painfully apparent to everyone including Minnesota who took full advantage. It’s just a little scary that they don’t have a replacement for Kyle on this team. Ugh.
Ruiz doubled down by not marking the guy who was open in our box and scored. He was our only player who saw him and was near enough to do it since Besler was way the hell over by Glad. The key though, as you observed, was Herrera taking the terrible angle and keeping the dude on-side.
It’s one of my top reasons for not being a big fan yet. It’s not professional and he has consistently done it since coming up to the senior team.
Why? Kyle was subbed for medical reasons. Rusnak was subbed because he didn’t have his legs after his international call-up and travel. Where did Petke fail?
