Well, the cRapids beat the everlivin' shit out of the cRapids, but...semantics. Having me start this thread is likely the final nail in the coffin. We're gettin' Zlatanized. RSL 0 - 2 LAG.
I know all games/points matter but this one really has important written all over it. Only 8 points separates 1st from 6th and RSL is only 5 points out of first and 3 from sixth. It’s really almost anyone’s opportunity to end up on top, for all but a few teams. It’s certainly not a season ended if they lose but 3 points would really put some space between RSL and the Galaxy. It looks like the final playoff spot will come down to RSL, LAG, and Vancouver. Seattle and Portland have a couple games in hand that with how they are playing will make it difficult for RSL to stay above them. LAFC could do the usual expansion team fade so the last 4 spots will probably change after every game moving forward. Here’s to 3 points.
I'd love to see 3 points, but all the karma involved in RSL winning 2 in a row on the road seems likely to come back in terms of a home loss.
All I know is Nicky, Glad, and whoever is the other CB better actually show up in this game. Not that bullshit they had down in LA when we played these guys last.
Yeah, "must win game" is an overused phrase, but this is as close to a regular season playoff game as there is.
I think it might be sold out. The only tickets I could see on RSL's website are from resellers. There's a couple in the supporter's section for $59/each. Some of the asking prices are pretty crazy - $150/ticket in Section 31, $300 in Section 18...
Huh. I've been getting a lot of marketing for this game this week and thought they were having trouble selling. Maybe marketing actually works?
Yeah. I guess I figured he'd sell himself and not need emails sent the day before the game. But I obviously don't know how any of this works.
You're probably right, Zlatan sells himself. But if marketing at RSL is anything like my work then they are probably sending a bunch of emails to say "Hey, we did a whole bunch of work sending emails and stuff and the game sold out, look how awesome I am at my job".
I have to admit, I'm excited to see this game. Not because I have any expectations (embratsu), but because I want to see how all the babies do (3 of 4 defenders, Sava, Bofo). I have a feeling that 1st team to 3 wins, which should be VERY entertaining / frustrating.
I would be pretty happy with a tie, seeing as how the LAG big guns are back and we have Besler on Zlatan.
RSL’s speed up top will be hard for L.A. to deal with. If we can get a early goal we will have a decent chance.
Let's compare forwards. We have Damir Kreilach who is actually a defensive midfielder, and they have both Zlatan Ibrahimovich and Ola Kamara.
