Phillips, easily, dude got smoked for 2 of the goals and that was game. He was soooooo bad today, just poor from the whole defense.
You could have seen 8 or 10 goals today! Only LAFC missing chances are we able to keep it within three (so far).
That said, this is a phenomenal blowout, in part because of how many more LAFC could have scored. They had one cleared off the line, hit the post on a wide-open goal, and screwed up several 3-on-1 or 5-on-2 type chances. 8-1 would have been fair to us still.
That was some great defence, defence cutting off the passing lanes, counter attacks, passes and runners cutting the defence apart. . . By LAFC. It's almost as we didn't even show up. This is what a professional team is suppose to look like scrimmaging against amature
There was so much wrong with this game, but it was one simple thing by RSL that kept pissing me off to no end, GO TO THE MOTHER********ING BALL! Jesus, how many passes/layoffs/balls toward RSL players did we see where the RSL player just stood there waiting for the ball to get to them, only for an LAFC player to intercept it. How ********ing hard is this? This is shit taught to grade schoolers, you go to the goddamn ball, don't wait for it to get to your foot.
Anyone else noticed the grass was painted green? The touchline and end line were dormant brown. LAFC jerseys and the ball collected the paint. RSL jerseys did not because we did not slide tackle on defence or break up passes
It's not painted, they have a heating unit in the middle of the field that doesn't extend all the way to the edges. They turn on the heater and cover the grass to make a pseudo-greenhouse; they don't cover it or heat it all around the edges.
Was an hour early to they game and sat through every minute of what ever that was. Perhaps The RSL players got the time wrong? What a show of shit. I did call it though, sitting next to my son when they subbed in the super dribbler, Bofo, for Horst. I told him “looks like they’re going to 3 in the back. LA is going to score twice more before it’s over.” Brilliant. Although in all honesty I did not see this coming one bit even though my darkest fears of the end of last year being a mirage or fools gold fully materialized. This team has no idea what to do on offense besides dribble into multiple defenders and then fall down or pass to the other team. Really looking forward to 15’s thoughts if he didn’t have a stroke watching this scrimmage. I do think that if you get your asses handed to you two years in a row by expansion teams at home you should get some money back or something.
If only Yura was still on the team... he wouldn't have played and we would have still lost, handily but at least people warming up would have gotten their water bottles in a timely matter, Sorry I just had to make a joke after that *dirt* show.
Boy what a game to miss, so glad I did not drive 3.5 hours for that garbage. Let’s just hope LA is really that good.
I'm sorry I missed the home opener - NOT Was at work but unfortunately did see this coming. They (LAFC) are really a good team and are drilled well together despite having a very short time together. Eventually other teams will figure them out but they are in the top flight of MLS right now.
Yes I know there is an air unit to warm the root zone. But this picture does not look like grass stains. It looks like paint. I believe the RIOT only has the air unit. That would help prevent the ground from freezing. BMO Field and EPL stadiums have the air, glycol liquid, and grow lamps to grow grass and keep out of dormancy year round. For the season schedule it is only a month where it would be like this at the RIOT. Come April it would be green naturaly RSL soap box even brought up the paint https://www.rslsoapbox.com/2018/3/10/17104918/rsl-vs-lafc-what-we-learned Enough about paint. RSL soapbox has a pic of the goal, same link, from Matt Doyle twitter feed. As you can clearly see it was offside. RSL seem to perform poorly with sell outs and standing room. We need to have one seat set aside to prevent every seat from being taken.
