I will make another thread so we have an midweek game, with a game on Saturday, daytime highs are supposed to be in the mid nineties , with a fireworks game against SKC. If I remember right these tend to have some drama, let's hope for less headlocks.
Have we ever won a 4th of July game? Seems we always tie or in the rare case lose. I cant remember a win
I remember a New England game where Nat was red carded in like the third minute, we fell behind 2-0, and then tied 3-3. EDIT: Fourth of July 2011.
I only went back to 09, but we did have two. July 2nd 2010 5-0 against NE. Then lat year we beat LA 6-2 on the 4th, but that was on the road. It is pretty bleak overall though. IIRC, a lot of the years were draws, so I guess we can hopefully look forward to a point in this one. Although I guess since it was only 7/2, we can ignore that NE game since it wasn't technically the 4th.
that wasn't a 4th of july game, but was one of the best (if not the best) games I've attended at the RioT. Mathis scored a golazo volley off a corner kick
It seems like we almost always played against NE at the Riot for the 4th. This time we play the team that I want to beat more than any other team in the league.
there was always that bit or irony of the team with the monarchy name playing against the "Revolution" from New England
I am not expecting any fireworks until after the game. You can only ride $54,000 worth of striker for so long.
Is Connor Sparrow hurt now, too? Andrew Putna is backing up Nick Rimando. Kyle and Plata both on the bench to start.
Who is this RSL team and please do not tell us what you did with the previous boys who wore the uniform, we really don't want them back.
Goals tonight: Jefferson Savarino, age 21. Corey Baird, age 22. Sebastian Saucedo, age 21. That's pretty remarkable. Plus four more players at 23, 20, 20, and 21.
Should have been another goal there. Silva and savorina were pissed with baird for taking the shot and not passing
