Thanks. My assertions were supported and stated in 2013 with stats, fouls, and specific instances. That's all a matter of record from the 2013 Cup thread in skc forum. It's very specific. Your managers have changed, and players have changed, but your club ethos hasn't. As I suspected then, and more firmly believe now, it's attributable to your fans. Recently, I cited petke's post game, and your poster for more complaining.
Mostly dislike, but not all cards are played. We gave a lot, and got a lot. Biggest issue for me is the timing of the transaction. Eyeing a return of Christian Nemeth if we can grab top allocation spot. If we can't, we will have to fill the the void with unproven MLS attackers. Difficult to replicate Dom on the press (ie constant effort, fouling, antics, presence, and great hair). Thanks for asking.
You guys are witty and fun. But ive more than worn my unwelcome. I dislike your club, and I believe the feeling is mutual. I guess I'll leave it at that. I've been to various parts of Utah and it's an awe inspiring beautiful state unlike any other. I hope to make it to your fantastic stadium one day, and watch my team beat your team.
The DisCo suspends Gerso Fernandes for his foul on Mulholland. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017...suspends-skcs-gerso-fernandes-las-jack-mcbean
Yes, we are witty and fun. When you also realize that your team is full of thugs and divers, we'll be ready to welcome you. After all, I was born in Kansas but I made the right decision. And so can you.
True. I always get into trouble for being too honest with my criticisms. My apologies to SKC for being way, way out of line on that one.
P.S. A non-partisan pre-MLS party that year with players, ex-players and journalists from across the league featured a lot of discussion about SKC's thuggery. Lagerwey may have got that notion in print, but he hardly had a monopoly on those thoughts. Matt Doyle, Steve Davis, Taylor Twellman, Omar Gonzalez, and several other current players at the time were actually having a long discussion on the topic, and as I recall there was not a single dissenting vote in the room. Funny thing...Don Garber walked into the room in the middle of that discussion, and after listening for about 30 seconds decided it was best to turn around and walk out.
Its the old "we're going to play this way and we dare you to eject all of us" strategy. I think SKC, through the years, has been masterful at analyzing MLS referees' individual tendencies and figuring out how far they can push the envelope every game. This isn't a negative or critical post towards them. In professional sports you look for every advantage you can and they work harder at this aspect than anybody else in MLS. The New England Patriots in the NFL are another example of an organization that works hard at it.
2017 Fouls Committed: RSL 298 in 22 games (second most) SKC 232 in 21 games (bottom of League) 2017 YC: RSL 45 SKC 39 2017 RC: RSL 2 SKC 1 Disco has retroactively issued four redcards against SKC opponents this year. SKC has been awarded 1 penalty this year.
I'll grant you that SKC has been fouling less this year compared to many teams (note: on a per game basis, SKC fouls 5th least, not bottom of the league. RSL is 6th most, not second most. But whatever.) Historically, that hasn't been true: 2012 fouls: RSL 444 SKC 456 2013 fouls: RSL 400 SKC 511 2014 fouls: RSL 424 SKC 499 2015 fouls: RSL 436 SKC 454 2016 fouls: RSL 434 SKC 420 Like it or not, SKC earned their reputation from 2012-2015, and it will take a while for that to wear off.
