First road game is against a retooled Chicago Fire squad that tied their first game 1-1, at Columbus. Similar to us, they have more questions than answers in the back, and emphasized attacking prowess with their acquisitions save for Dax McCarty. On Saturday the new Fire goalkeeper kept them in the game and then they pushed late.
FWIW I thought Chicago was clearly the better team in the 2nd half of their game against Columbus, I don't know if Columbus was just sitting back with the 1-0 lead or if they just aren't that good, but Chicago pretty much had the run of play after half time. They had less possession overall, generated a lot of dangerous opportunities and got a well deserved equalizer.
Chicago is much-improved from last season. Considering last season was a dumpster fire, who knows how big of an improvement they'll be. I think this game is winnable for certain, though.
I will go with some questions, 1. Will it Snow? 2.Glad Out? 3.How bad will Cassar's sweater be this week?
Someone threw some gas back on the dumpster NEWS | #cf97 midfielder John Goossens to undergo ligament surgery, expected to miss five to six months. Details: https://t.co/NTlB2j8JZX pic.twitter.com/n2wYET7SXu— Chicago Fire FC (@ChicagoFire) March 8, 2017
Who's gonna do the legwork to review *ALL* of Cassar's sweater choices over the last few years? I will be highly entertained. No way I'm gonna do it myself.
Goossens is an important piece in Chicago's gameplan, but he is also not terribly difficult to replace tactically. I do think he has more passion than most though. They'll miss his a$$hole-ish "Keane-spark."
Didn't @15 to 32 point out that real football manager should always, always, always wear a suit and tie? Sweaters? Pfff!
my personal preference is that the coach/manager wear a suit and tie. At the professional level, you should look professional. Dumb thing to get irked over, but that's me.

I love that pic as much as anyone but you do realize he literally has a shirt and tie on under the coat, right?
I predict that RSL will go all Barca to their PSG and win 6-1. Hat trick (all headers) to Chad Barrett just because.
Maund: out Schuler: out Glad: out Horst: in Schmidt: in bench: Wingert 4-2 Chicago...RSL ends with 10 men after a CB after a CB gives up a PK. Multiple defensive players on yellows.
Jeff Cassar: RSL getting second opinions on Justen Glad (knee), who could have some ligament issues. Schuler (foot) also out for Chicago. pic.twitter.com/NOrIA3CiIX— Chris Kamrani (@chriskamrani) March 9, 2017 It's just comical now.
BWAHAHAHAAAAAAA!!!!! I guess I lose out. I thought Mr Glass would at least make it to April 1 before missing a game due to injury.
