I view it as an advanced diamond with Yura at the point. It's almost as if DLH told Cassar he wanted to see more goals, so he decided moving the diamond to the front of the formation would create more goals.
Javi plays too high for me to completely agree with it being a diamond, but yeah. I get your point. Which begs the question, if that's how it is supposed to work, why don't you see Plata and Burrito interchanging with Yura more? It seems the advanced middle three (Plata/Javi/Burrito) will exchange, but not advanced with the striker (Yura). So we see a lot of possession up to the edge of our final third but then no dynamic movement to advance the ball further. Simplified: shit tactics
You are making one heck of an assumption there...that Jeff knows, or more accurately, UNDERSTANDS who may or may not fit with the style he thinks he wants to play (but appears incapable of teaching.)
whether based on his coaching philosophy or not, this team plays a certain way. The best comparison is David Moyes at United. We cross the ball more now than I feel we ever have. Our midfield wins the ball deep and then finds space on the wings. We then dick around with it before ultimately whipping in a hopeful ball. Common them among my posts lately: shit tactics
Trib article about Glad. http://www.sltrib.com/sports/4463656-155/real-salt-lake-indispensable-justen-glad
Found this on this in Mail Online in the Australia tab. A guy makes these portraits out of Avocado. Edible! Does he look familiar?
How is he worth DP money. Look at his stats. He just looks at what money he is getting and does not give 100%.
If he would put away a decent percentage of his chances he would be worth it; however, he hasn't been doing that.
well for a whole season he is not finishing his chances so why did they sign him and if they did because they have noone else then he should of gotten a lower salary with incentives to raise it if he scores. Right now he got signed without producing much.. I just don't get how we lack the insight to get good forwards. Our back up is Garcia???. Come on!
Devon's still on the Rayo OKC roster, and he's also on RSL's roster, for what that's worth. At least they managed to get a photo of him on RSL's page. I'm thinking they're getting ready to bring him back for the Sounders game on Sunday. Just the shot in the arm we need - go Sandoval!!
If Sandoval is our ace in the hole going into Seattle we are already screwed. Let's leave Cassar home, and see how players like Burrito respond.
Rayo's is still fighting for the last playoff NASL playoff spot, so we may not get him back until after the 30th. So that means he'll be rested and ready to go for the November 6th playoff game. Go Sandoval!!
I stole this from the News & Analysis forum. It sounds kind of familiar, except Cassar hasn't managed to make any adjustments.
Maybe the 4-2-3-1 we see is an adjustment he made. We don't know enough to know what he's presenting in house. We do know he had a plan around a 4-3-3 system that he presented when he took the job, but that was 2 years, and many baffling substitutions and non-substitutions ago. The post-season town hall meeting will be interesting, if there is one.
Only if people go and ask the hard questions. Otherwise it'll be marketing talk followed by free KoolAid.
his first iteration of the "4-3-3" played much more like a 4-1-1-2-1-1. You guys not remember our midfield getting skipped like a set of cones? The 4-2-3-1 makes a lot more sense given our middle five. The issue is we don't have the point to compliment it. And I think Cassar is too proud (and scared to bench certain players) to go to a 4-4-2 or something to that effect. Note: I'M NOT ADVOCATING A ********ING DIAMOND. You can play a 4-4-2 without a diamond
