Ahh, why can't MLS Live use the home broadcast? CSN has a tiny section of the stadium mic'd and nothing else. So I can hear like two people talking and one guy whistling. So annoying.
Agreed. The best part of the broadcast so far is the few seconds when they accidentally let the RSL broadcast through. But the sound is tough from SJ, and the announcers are in the studio, and it's . . . awkward.
Based on the crowd noise on the goal, maybe that is being piped into the studio as "filler" - no one cheered at all.
Watching this game on the MLS Package. As an EARTHQUAKES broadcast, I'm going to bet money that the announcers are in Northern California and the "audio" is indeed just filler. It's LOOPS every 38 seconds. Common practice... but annoying as hell. Just listen for the two "high whistles" followed by the low one. tm
Possession down to 57% because instead of pointless side to side passes Vela is attacking the defense.
Second half looking very much like the RSL team we saw last week in L.A. Jaime was dissapointing, hope Garcia can do better.
I think Beltran has been poor, but then I remember Balchan in that spot last week and I am content with Tony after all.
Does Gil ever hustle when he is in the game??? No! Yes Tony has been quiet this game. He might be out of shape a little cause he has been out .
Three points and qualification for the playoffs, plus a night on which Sebastian Velazquez looked like he is rounding into form at just the right time: a good night's work.
Vela first MLS goal in 32 MLS matches? Stat guy on San Jose feed needs direction. They did however give Vela man of match, well deserved.
Yes... horrible. Announcers (particularly the Brit) were terrible, talked way too much and just idiotically about RSL. No mics for the field so couldn't hear any of the CR's whistles.
oh, my, that explains a lot. Early on you could hear the RSL team and I'll bet it was an attempt to get the field audio feed and there were technical problems that couldn't be resolved. So, they piped the 38 second loop... egad.
A really positive opening 30 minutes, again. Moribund lameness followed, again. SJ was more dangerous at times than we'd like but give the D credit for making it difficult for them most of the time (with a couple of exceptions). Glad nobody got hurt, SJ was hacking a lot...again.
Honestly thought that Velasquez was on his way out at the end of the year, and I didn't care until tonight. He's a completely different player at CAM then on the side of the diamond. Very happy for him and his new/future kid (I assume that's why he keeps doing the "pregnant" goal celebration). Actually thought it was a pretty good crowd tonight, considering the lineup I thought I was going to see. Didn't expect Atinella, Salcedo, or Gil; so that was a nice surprise. Near the end of the game (during the kill the game/protect the lead portion), the guy in front of me was trying to take a picture of his beer cup with the game in the background. I was debating whether to call it the "beer selfie" or the BEERSL. Still can't decide...
Wow, that's a pointless pic - there aren't any beers worthy of that treatment at the RioT. Now if they started selling Epic beers or something similar, we might be talking...
