Royals hit the road in what should be the clubs first road win, ever. However, this feels far too much like a trap game given the world cup players that will be missing for us (Becky, Smith, ARod) and the desperation from a Sky Blue team that still hasn't won a game this year.

I really have no idea on the XI that Harvey will use with those three out. Does she just plug in replacements and play or is their a formation switch to compensate for the impact of losing so many key players to the spine of the team?

No in-game updates from me today. Going to a family function.

I'm curious to see who gets the start in goal. Harvey will probably go with the experience of Barnhart, but I also wouldn't be surprised if Proctor gets the nod instead. I do expect Miramontez to slot in at CB for Broon and Thorsnes in for A-Rod up top.

The game has been pretty even. Not sure we have it in us to push for a winner these last ten minutes or so.

Owen Goal is a helluva player in MLS. Who is the NWSL version - Owena Goal? Google tells me Owena is a Welsh name, so I guess so.

Royals 2, Sky Blue 1, stoppage time coming.

I always thought "own goal earned" would be an interesting stat to track. You whip the ball into the box to see if your player or an errant defensive clearance gets a goal. Would it be part of the chances created stat?

I thought that players could earn an assist when they force an own goal.

Both Gorry and especially Corsie totally blew chances in the fist half.

Gunny is a really fun player to watch.

That would be a fair way to track it

In case anyone cares about this sort of thing, allwhitekit.com does write-ups of each NWSL game based on data from inStat, ranking the top 5 and bottom 3 players for said game (with a minimum requirement of 30 minutes played). The top ranked player for this game was Gunny.

Not bad that one of the shots on frame that the Royals had, originated from inside out own goal... :)

Great information though, I like the breakdown.
