The article on the Rowdies' web site says that this is the final roster before opening kick on the 25th. What I found most interesting is that there are only three forwards listed (Paterson, Hristov and Brown) and a whole lot of midfielders. Looks like a lot of 4-5-1 formations to start matches off this season. There are also only 22 players listed on the first team. Last year, I think the number was closer to 25-26.

I like that they kept the hoops in the home kit. Overall nice job. On a side note, it looks like this game will be a sell out. TicketMaster only has General Admission seats listed. Fantastic news!

I will see y'all Saturday! My first Rowdies game in person since an ASL game in 1989 at the Old Sombrero. Looking forward to it.

While this is wonderful to read, I will not be completely convinced until the votes are counted. Even though there is nothing about this referendum that is the least bit risky, there will still be people out there who question everything and will be against it. That is especially true in St Petersburg where the older crowd are particularly protective of the waterfront. It couldn't be a more perfect situation, but I still need to see that vote go through. What happened in St Louis yesterday is not a comparison but it was still a surprise to me.
You still see some ignorant comments on the articles online assuming it will be publicly funded as well (despite it saying RIGHT THERE in the article that it's privately funded). We will see. They've been very engaged with the most active neighborhood groups and winning their approval though. With a former mayor helping lead the charge hopefully this means they've navigated the political issues well.
So what did you think? I think the club has pushed the right buttons since Mr. Edwards has taken over. The fan experience has gotten better each year.
Played with Deshorn in college. I think he will do well with you guys. I suppose he is looking to work his way back in MLS. I think he is quality enough.
To muddy the waters a little more for the logically challenged, enter the curiously timed Rays Stadium Plan released to the public yesterday. Even though the two projects have nothing to do with one another and the Al Lang Project is win-win across the board, I still don't like the idea of multiple stadium proposals occupying the public psyche simultaneously when these ballots are being cast.
It's my one complaint right now....the ticket prices are really kinda high, especially if you want to sit in the green and gold seats, which are way more comfortable.
