Algeria is a solid team, they play French style football they should not be taken lightly.

The game will be played in Porto Alegre with temperature high expected to be 16 degrees. So weather won't be a problem.

Just hope Hoewedes gets benched , we saw in both last games we need FB that are faster in the flanks

Amongst the long list of things I wish had been done differently this is the one change I'll settle for, especially since the team selection was an issue, but at this point all we can do is Jogi plays Durm or GK over Howedes on the left.

One area that Algeria troubled opponents in their group was aerial headers off set pieces and crosses. We'll need our backline to be sharp. Defensively they look more porous. Even in the match against Korea, they were exploited and the scoreline could've been closer if not for a goalline clearance and some bad Korean misses.

Yeah, I hope we learned from the USA game that Poldi and Höwedes probably shouldn't start while Schweini was great.

I like the idea of Großkreutz for Höwedes. I love Podolski, but I think he's best suited coming off the bench when the other team gets a bit tired. Would go back with Götze. Schweini for Khedira definitely needs to be permanent.

Großkreutz is maybe the quicker and more offensive-minded solution we need against Algeria cause like Ghana they have some pacey wingers. Problem I have with Großkreutz is the pk he gave up to Albania. Cant get this out of my head.....

We played against Armenia i think

Grosskreutz is actually more effective on the left. He started his career as a LW. He can certainly play RB, but i think the transition from LW to LB is good enough.

And i may be the minority but i think Boateng does well at RB. Solid.

With Schuerrle, Mueller and Oezil rotating up top, we have enough creativity and lethality (Mueller, Schuerrle). We can always bring in Goetze, Klose and Poldi in the 2nd half to play a more direct approach.

I think this is a solid setup. Will be even better if we have someone like Lasogga as Klose's backup. A tank like Lasogga can be an X-factor off the bench...big-time aerial threat as well

    Time to break this series.

Algeria is a team with good fighting spirit, but what pissed me off was the laserpointer accident at the 1-1 . Using these things is total no-go and kicks sportmanship. People who point with them in other peoples faces deserve no respect.
