Report: Several teams interested in trading for Minnesota's Miguel Ibarra https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017...s-interested-trading-minnesotas-miguel-ibarra
MLS expansion draft set for Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. ET.LAFC will select 5 players total, not more than 1 from any single club.Current teams can protect 11 players, with many exemptions: https://t.co/zdq6GaLWOR— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) November 14, 2017
Few things from Jeff R 1) Roster cuts have to be announced by Nov. 27. #MNUFC should make theirs any day now.2) Free agency opens on 12/12. Waiver draft 12/13. Re-entry concludes 12/21.3) I haven't gotten a sense that a DP 10 is at the top of their wishlist. A DP 6/8 is much more likely. https://t.co/j5zD0GQjnN— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) November 20, 2017 Re: lack of a DP 10...I see this as a sign that Heath is moving away from the 4-2-3-1 and focusing on a 4-4-2 for next season. He had some success with Ramirez and Danladi in the same lineup, and wants to use both strikers regularly next year. #MNUFC https://t.co/JTAm22bTg9— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) November 20, 2017
#MNUFC announces 2017 end-of-season roster update. More » https://t.co/C2tOTOjDZR pic.twitter.com/jMLl74tOtw— Minnesota United FC (@MNUFC) November 27, 2017 Midfielders Ibson, Collin Martin and Johan Venegas, defender Brent Kallman and goalkeepers Alex Kapp and Bobby Shuttleworth had their options picked up by the club. The Loons declined contract options on midfielders Bernardo Añor and Ismaila Jome and defenders Justin Davis, Thomas de Villardi, Joe Greenspan, Jermaine Taylor and Kevin Venegas. Goalkeeper Patrick McLain was out of contract without an option
Can confirm: I've heard #LAGalaxy is eager to part with Gyasi Zardes. Source tells me that #MNUFC are a possible destination for the forward. https://t.co/A8fguoZjwI— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) December 1, 2017
So...someone with lots of speed and a worse first touch than Nick Chopper, the Tin Woodsman... Didn't we have a cheaper version of Gyasi in Bashkim Kadrii? Yeah, that worked well.
Alajuelense are currently negotiating with Johan Venegas http://www.amprensa.com/2017/12/lda-mantiene-fuertes-negociaciones-dos-ticos-la-mls/ (Have not heard from any other source on this)
BREAKING: #MNUFC set to acquire M Harrison Heath from #ATLUTD. Loons will trade a 2019 fourth-round pick. Harrison is the son of MIN head coach Adrian Heath. #MLS— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) December 8, 2017
A massive increase, and even larger than what I heard and reported over All-Star weekend. Depending on how its used, this'll be a game-changer. https://t.co/LEDi99XtWv— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) December 8, 2017 More so than separating #MLS's willing and unwilling spenders, the additional $2.8 million of TAM will separate teams with prudent player identification and recruitment practices… and those without.Chances are… you know which one your favorite team is, or isn't.— Andy (@AndyEdMLS) December 8, 2017
Somehow I'm guessing Harrison playing for his dad will not go as well as Michael playing for his dad. Color me underwhelmed.
#MNUFC players unprotected for Expansion Draft:B. AnorJ. DavisT. De VillardiV. DemidovJ. GreenspanM. IbarraI. JomeA. KappJ. LeitonP. McLainS. NicholsonR. SchullerJ. TaylorJ. VenegasK. VenegasC. Warner— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) December 10, 2017 Head scratcher on Ibarra and J. Venegas......easily some trade value there
Well, you can only actively protect 11 (I use that term because Danladi, Martin and Heath are automatically protected), so looking at the protected list of Ibson, Boxall, Burch, Calvo, Cronin, Finlay, Kallman, Molino, Ramirez, Shuttleworth and Thiesson...especially at who the midfielders are...I'm not sure who I would have exposed over Vanegas and Ibarra. Worst case scenario, we lose one of the two, keeping the other one for trade / sale value. Best case scenario: Someone at LAFC has a brain cramp and selects Demidov.
In this game of chess, I probably would have protected Nicholson over Boxall. Of course, with gutting of the defense, they are now forced to protect what they have left.
I must have put this in the news thread. Sources telling me #MNUFC were in “advanced talks” about a trade with a Western Conference side. I’d expect those to resume after the window opens again.— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) December 10, 2017 Pretty vague, but I wonder if there was some interest from the Galaxy? We know Sigi Schmid has had his eyes on Ibarra for some time. Otherwise, maybe that Portland deal that fell through, that would have sent Venegas to Portland.
http://everardoherrera.com/index.ph...egas-tiene-todo-listo-para-firmar-con-la-liga (Through translator) If nothing special happens in the MLS Draft, attacker Johan Venegas will join the ranks of Liga Deportiva Alajuelense for next season. The Minnesota United player does not enjoy a good relationship with his coach and the few minutes on campus make a quick start.
Details from MNUFC....for those who want details/implications about TAM https://www.mnufc.com/post/2017/12/08/mls-increases-tam-investment
As for #MNUFC, it's all about perceived value for other clubs. One name to watch: Miguel Ibarra, who's been linked to #LAGalaxy, #RBNY, #Sounders, #RCTID, and #NYCFC this winter. https://t.co/YFfhBnyVLt— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) December 11, 2017 #MLS sources telling me to expect #LAFC to trade expansion picks rather than draft players for their inaugural roster. I'm preparing for a lot of shop-talk tomorrow.— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) December 11, 2017
No Loons taken in the Expansion Draft: https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017/12/12/2017-mls-expansion-draft
I'm hearing that former #MNUFC transfer target Thomas Abbey is now being pursued by #NERevs. The Ghanaian midfielder last played for Hearts of Oak.— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) December 13, 2017
Favorite quote on Reddit at the moment. Atlanta has already acquired Nagbe, Barco, Hernandez, Escobar and Arokoyo this offseason. Minnesota has acquired..... Harrison Heath.. Awesome.
Potential Re-Entry Draft fits for #MNUFC (pick 4):- Mike Grella, M - Calum Mallace, - Sean Okoli, F- M Dillon Powers, M- Kofi Sarkodie, D- Jose Villarreal, M/F- London Woodberry, D(They probably won't pick anyone, tbh)https://t.co/sxELzyrlsK— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) December 15, 2017
Sounds like #MNUFC expects to be active with fourth pick in #MLS re-entry draft at 2 p.m. today. Opening picks are LA, DC and then Colorado.— Andy Greder (@andygreder) December 15, 2017
