Boquete = Independence's Marinette Pichon. She's got that quality about her, that finishing kick. Now we become fans of Boston, SkyBlue and MagicClusterFrak for a week
Still Independence would have tied all three games without her goals, so 9 - 3 = 6 No, she isn't allowed to. You're right, I forgot she played a couple games for Chicago Red Stars past summer.
Most leagues require a certain amount of play in a season in order to no longer be considered a rookie. (In MLB, for example, it takes 130 at-bats, 50 innings pitched, or 45 days on the 25-player roster.) So far as I can tell, she only played 180 minutes for the Red Stars, so I'd be willing to argue that she's a rookie.
I know the qualification for WPS rookie of the year had to do with a player completing their college eligibility in the previous year. I don't know how that applies to internationals (except in cases like Sophie Schmidt).
I just read in Marca that Sanderson and Lohman are signing for Espanyol I guess Boquete had to do with this.
Reviving thread as I hadn't heard this before, and was wondering if any of you had, and what you think of it: from Equalizer
Do those leagues overlap with the WPS season or is it possible for the players to play in both leagues? Maybe even if the seasons overlap, the players could still play in both leagues the way Donovan and Beckham have done recently.
The Swedish and Russian leagues start in April too, so they overlap indeed. Anyway I read Boquete can terminate her contract if Energiya is knocked out of the Champions League. By the way, Lohman and Sanderson were presented this week as new RCD Espanyol players. They will probably play on Sunday against Valencia CF.
