Giuseppe Rossi faces another difficult test in his second La Liga match, taking on Real Madrid for his first home match at El Madrigal.

It seems as though the contract squabbles between the Spanish television stations has been rectified, as GolTV is showing that they will present this game.

Let's keep this thread about the game, and not whether you think Rossi is a YA or not. I hope that the mods will keep an eye out!

For those interested, Marca (Spanish sports daily) has a nice little preview page for the game: link. Rossi projected to start. Match commentary is also available on Marca's website once the game starts.

If you actually get GolTV, you suck. ;)

But if not, there are abundant viewing streams on myp2p.eu

    Thanks.

Sneijder with a beautiful bending direct kick in the upper 90...

Two minutes later, Ruud from 6.

From watching the first two Villarreal games (and the Italy U21s earlier this summer & the Newcastle games last Fall), I am having a hard time seeing what the big deal is about Rossi.

He reminds me a bit of Landon, but without the blazing speed. He's never going to be a world-class forward for lack of size and his pace is a bit slow and he lacks the foot wizardry to dominate in midifeld.

He's a very good player for his age. No doubt aboiut it. But I think ManUtd has gotten the better end of the transfer deal. At least at this stage of the guy's career.

Tallavana, these are the first two games that I've seen of him, and I too haven't seen much from him yet.

  17. That's not possible, Real has 4 Dutch players and Bayern only one, after selling Makaay to Feyenoord:D

Don't get me wrong, I'd love for him to be part of the USMNT.

But from what I've seen, he'll never play in a World Cup for Italy.

I'll agree. I've watched his performances so far with Villarreal, and a few of his games for Newcastle, and he really didn't do all that much. But he's young, learning all the time, and may one day become a really good player. He is small, though, and has nowhere near the speed of a young Michael Owen. If I was a coach I'd turn him into a SWP/Joe Cole winger. But I'm not a coach, and barely know what I'm talking about. But hey this is BigSoccer.

This thread seals the nationality issue.

Because we all know what happens to American players when they need time to develop their game. :)
