Muacchio, argentine youngster, defender in for Marco Ruben.

So that means there is only 1 forward up top, Rossi, and they are going to try to keep this tie.

DOnt blame them, Real Madrid has been putting the squeeze on them, you can almost feel the goal coming....

Altidore probably wont get PT this game either....

I'd be shocked if Madrid don't win this. Villarreal is fading in the 2nd half like they did in Barcelona.

ESPN has Catala starting. Is that true? If so, only 2 subs.

Villarreal have two players warming up - neither of them Jozy.

But that might change if Villarreal go behind.

RM is dominating this half. VCF is just tired, and lost Angel due to injury. They should be playing for the tie. RM have been nice enough not to score yet.

Cani (with the nice goal from earlier) out, Oriol in, the 24 defender in for Cani. They really are buckling down trying to get defenders in to keep the score tied...

3 subs used. No jozy for today.

Only with a penchant for pointing out the obvious, straying off topic, confusing players names and adding little value.

did i mention I hate tommy smyth? Gone are the days when we need a British Isles accent for presumed credibility.

Waldo is fine with me, though.

Ronaldo looked to be offside when the ball was either played in or another Madrid player flashed and grazed a header in front of goal. We never got a good replay, so who nows? Not really sure what Tommy is talking about, though.

On the goal, CR came back from an offside position after it was last touched forward by his teammate to pick up the ball and score.

The keeper (or defender) touching it doesn't matter? I'm not be a smart ass, I really am not sure.

I need to see some better replays, too.

Well, if he's moving from an offside position back on to play the ball then it is a bad goal. It wasn't clear if Real Madrid were controlling the ball at that point. If one of the Villareal defenders were in possession and trying to clear then I think you can't take away the goal. In between, if the ball is banging around, it's a tough call to make. But it sure looked like Villareal had a case.

It was last touched forward by an RM (attacking) player. CR was offside when it was touched and he came back to pick up the ball, turn, shot and score.
