A tremendous loss. I often wish we'd celebrate heroes and loved ones while they were still with us. Too often it takes a tragedy to celebrate a life well lived.
Roman dodged the Oligarch sanctions list announced today. Good thing for him his ex-wife is such good buddies with Ivanka and Jared.
He knows Putin but he's not really part of Putin's circles, which is the security forces or his close friends.
Then you aren’t aware. He gave him a damn yacht. He was governor of Chukotka. He recommended Putin to Yeltsin. He’s involved with Putin.
C’mon, Berezovsky recommended Putin, not Roman! He’s not inner circle like Deripaska or the Rotenbergs.
I didn’t say he was on Deripaska’s level. Kazuma said he wasn’t “part of Putin’s circles”, which is plural. He is part of his “circles”. Granted they aren’t A-List historians, but has the reporting in this book been proven to be incorrect? Given their personalities, Abramovich would never claim such a thing whereas Boris would. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0064MEQCG/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1
Another Chelsea great passed away. http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2018/04/roy-bentley--1924-2018.html RIP
And JT supposedly has funded the tribute banners. www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5639929/Chelsea-legend-Roy-Bentley-died-aged-93.html
To be fair, anyone with enough money in Russia is in Putin’s orbit in some way. But Roman has been studiously apolitical for 20 years now, to make sure he didn’t offend the government in Russia or anywhere else. He’s clearly not a primary political player. He’s not even close to someone like Prokhorov.
Loftus-Cheek has been selected to the World Cup squad. I'm not sure what that says about Chelsea as a club or Southgate as a manager. Good enough for England - not for Chelsea?
It says club teams are generally better than international ones. I’d love to move on from Cahill and he was an England fixture until what, last year?
well, personally i think there is something about RLC and i'll be very interested to see how he does. i mean, right now, you could make an argument he's our third best CM. behind Kante and Fabregas. and he may even add a little more than Fabregas now.
UK has not renewed Roman Abramovich’s visa https://t.co/7tcmRy97c1— Financial Times (@FT) May 20, 2018
Until RLC shows he can defend in a structured system, I don't think this can be true. A Liverpool friend of mine sent this to me. He'll have it in another month.
1. Roman now has Israeli citizenship and can come into the UK as freely as he please for up to 6 month spells. UK loses lots of taxes. 2. Chelsea put new stadium on hold. "Unfavorable investment climate." https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2...s-on-hold?utm_source=t.co&utm_medium=referral
