A tremendous loss. I often wish we'd celebrate heroes and loved ones while they were still with us. Too often it takes a tragedy to celebrate a life well lived.

 

Roman dodged the Oligarch sanctions list announced today. Good thing for him his ex-wife is such good buddies with Ivanka and Jared.

 

He knows Putin but he's not really part of Putin's circles, which is the security forces or his close friends.

 

Are you serious? You should read up on Roman a bit more.

Then you aren’t aware. He gave him a damn yacht. He was governor of Chukotka. He recommended Putin to Yeltsin. He’s involved with Putin.

 

C’mon, Berezovsky recommended Putin, not Roman! He’s not inner circle like Deripaska or the Rotenbergs.

Kazuma said he wasn’t “part of Putin’s circles”, which is plural. He is part of his “circles”.

To be fair, anyone with enough money in Russia is in Putin’s orbit in some way. But Roman has been studiously apolitical for 20 years now, to make sure he didn’t offend the government in Russia or anywhere else. He’s clearly not a primary political player. He’s not even close to someone like Prokhorov.

 

Loftus-Cheek has been selected to the World Cup squad. I'm not sure what that says about Chelsea as a club or Southgate as a manager.

Until RLC shows he can defend in a structured system, I don't think this can be true.

A Liverpool friend of mine sent this to me. He'll have it in another month.

 

1. Roman now has Israeli citizenship and can come into the UK as freely as he please for up to 6 month spells. UK loses lots of taxes.
