The club has already issued an apology and I wouldn't have any problem if Conte shipped Kenedy out before the end of the week. I understand there are language differences, but how about instead of posting something, don't. Read a book. http://www.shanghaidaily.com/sports...Chelsea-players-insulting-posts/shdaily.shtml
Kind of surprised at the reaction to it. Porra gets used often and harmlessly in Brazilian Portuguese. The snapchat of the guy sleeping also has nothing to it.. the reaction is way overblown.
Someone said a thing that could maybe, possibly have something to do with race. The reaction to it is way overblown. Color me shocked
I am very fluent in Portuguese being half Brazilian. None of it struck me as racist. Like he says "Wake up China" in that second pic of the dude sleeping.. in the context I'm understanding it, I don't even know dude... confusing as there is nothing to it. I hope he doesn't suffer much for this. Way overblown.
Well, who gets to decide when people are allowed to be offended? If you step on someone's foot by accident, it still hurts. I think it's okay to expect a genuine apology regardless of a person's intent.
It supports the narrative that Chelsea are an institutionally racist club (see Terry, John and Metro Incident, Paris). Jealous of the success we have on the pitch so trying to maintain some ridiculous moral high ground. As if something that someone does over which you have no control somehow makes you a better fan/person. LOL.
Apologize, sure. I was talking about the overreaction. There are hundreds of comments on Chelsea instagram of Chinese going "porra Chelsea." Like relax people...
Of the people who were offended by this, how many of them: Understand Portuguese and can comprehend things like sarcasm etc when written in that language vs. Don't understand Portuguese, but saw the word 'China' with a picture of a Chinese guy, and instantly assumed that racism was afoot?
Yep. : / Unfortunately, it is these guys' jobs to be that much more careful. Any reference to nationality is so easy to get misinterpreted as being automatically racist. Oh well, lesson learned for him.
Sorry, not an overreaction to me. Kenedy was cut from pre-season and sent home. Very good from the club. Hopefully this keeps all chelsea players off social media, but doubtful it'll happen.
Or at the very least being careful what they post. Related, best footballer social media post still goes to Darren Bent.
Roman to be a bachelor. http://pagesix.com/2017/08/07/chels...78.2082270451.1502130198-531997292.1490646156
I never read Insta comments but checked Chelsea's latest post.. what is with the large number of Indonesian fans commenting "DONT SUPPORT LGBT." What the ******** kind of shit is that?
Social media is proof why I don't think a lot of people should have a voice. And besides, never read the comments!
Not sure where to put this...Andrea Conti (Milan RB and Italian RB) tore his ACL in training this week. Looks like Zappacosta will be getting the bulk of starts.
good little piece on Christensen. http://plainsofalmeria.co.uk/2017/09/25/andreas-christensen-the-boy-from-brondby/
