I remember there is a fast track for those investing many millions in the UK. Lots of people from the Middle East used it to get their "bolt hole" citizenship for them and their kids into english schools in the last 5 years or so.

I wonder why he did not do that originally. Maybe it is because he is not resident in the UK enough.

I am sure he would not want to become UK resident as it would have tax implications

I have heard rumours for some time now that Roman has been trying to sell the club. I think it might happen over this summer. Sir Jim is the richest British man and he is wealthier than Roman. Sir Jim lives in Chelsea. Sir Jim has visited the Cobham training ground. Sir Jim is a Man Utd fan. . . Will Jim fix it?

Roman has turned down the opening advances. BUT the story is out in the press. Maybe it is only a question of time.

Yes "Jim will fix it" was a popular programme presented by the now infamous Jimmy Saville. People wrote into the programme with wishes which Jim "fixed it " for them to experience.

so in the category "real news i didn't expect":

chelsea have revealed that Morata will wear the number 29 this season in tribute to the birth of his twins. they were born on the 29th, and fits in with two nines and all that. sure, makes sense.

Yeah, anything if he starts scoring. It is frustrating to watch him miss chance after chance now.

i don't hate it or anything, and personal choice is what it is, but giving away the number 9 historically is kind of weird.

Morata has always seemed to be someone that holds their personal life and family and friends close to him though. we've seen that all throughout his social media as well, so at least its consistent.

but yea, score goals. nothing else really matters.

    Higuain:

"The esteem in which I hold Sarri isn't new," said Higuain at his Milan unveiling today. "But the only person who wanted me there (at Chelsea) was him. Everyone wanted me here."

    Yes, you're right.

    lol.

if Morata can get his head down, there is a real possibility the partnership between him and hazard in Sarri's system could really light up after a month or so. looking at his system at Napoli and the players he used, Hazard and Morata could both potentially become more lethal. we'll see of course.

I think Michy is better suited in my opinion.

He scores goals everywhere but Chelsea find a way f him up.

Good for him. I would have been happy to have him short term, but he can certainly read the room.

Personally, while I love the new stadium, I think it is a waste to invest nearly a billion dollars on this just to get to 60K. If we could just move to a different location, it would make more financial sense....Sadly that is proven to be difficult as well.

There are quite a few stories from MSM journos about the club being for sale now.

    Links?

I ask because even Matt hughes wrote from the beginning that Roman is not "actively looking."

Telegraph broke this morning with this after the Times sunday splash that Raine Group has been retained. They appear to have been briefed.

Seems unlikely both the Times and Telegraph are incorrect

of course it doesn't mean the club really is for sale because there is so much background politics - but this looks like a briefed story to me.

Give it up already, just to make it more convenient to you we are not going to move to Jersey to play atop Hoffa's bones.
