how does he compare to Charlie Davies?

I say this as both play(ed) in Sweden, similar build and same position of course.

I thought I remember Davies just playing striker? Gall is more versatile he can basically play anywhere in attack as a striker (false 9), winger, or attacking mid. The latter two positions is how he’s played in Sweden

Yeah, without watching his full games and just going by highlights, it seems weird to me that he doesn't get more minutes with Malmo. According to Transfermarkt, last season with Malmo, he had 6 goals and 2 assists in 759 minutes over 12 games. That's obviously a really good scoring rate, and as we've seen from the highlights, the goals he's scoring aren't tap-ins or garbage goals. He's hit some crackers from distance.

I just wonder if there's something else about his game that's keeping him on the bench as much as he is. When he was with the u-20s, I thought his passing vision and decision-making were pretty bad, so maybe that's still the case.

That goal was in cup competition against Degerfors, a mid-table second division team comparable to a weak USL side.

He's not used much because against better teams, you're not given that much space to get comfy and shoot from distance.

He also scored long distance goals when given PT in Allsvenskan.

P.S. Every time I watched him playing, he either scored or made very positive impact. He scored 7 goals for GIF Sundsvall in 13 appearances, 6 goals for Malmö FF in 12 appearances, totally 13 goals last Allsvenskan season, 3rd most goal scorers in the league. I don't know why in Malmo he didn't get enough PT, hope in 2019 season it improves

yeah I havent actually watched any of his games either - but he'd have to be godawful in the run of play to keep him from starting with his strike rate from the wing and the types of goals he's scoring - and it'd be very rare for him to be so good on strikes but bad in everything else.....

Malmo didn't buy him for no reason - I think it is just a case of preferring the options in front of him on the roster - hopefully he can just keep pushing and force his way into the starting lineup....

Finally, something good happens. He needs to score two goals in the last 20 minutes to send things into ET.

Foul, second yellow card, Barkley free kick, goal.

Gall just needs to score a 15-minute hat-trick to send Malmo through. No biggie.

This game Chelsea has not even looked interested. They're winning it on autopilot.

I really wanted to say Romain of Gall crossed the Channel and invaded Britain, but it didn't come to fruition.

Östers won 2-1 and now Malmö survival of the group stage (yeah, their cup has a group stage) is at risk, since only the top team of each group moves on to the QFs and Östers has 6/+2 while Malmö is at 3/0, both with one winnable game in hand.

    Starts in cup match:

4 ' Goals! A shot of Romain Gall is governed by Marcus Antonsson.

Sounds like Antonsson scored after Romain's shot.

Despite the win, they're out of the cup. Oysters (autocorrect, but I'm leaving it) goes through with their 3-1 win today.

Malmo's next competitive match is on April 1, when they open the league campaign against Hacken.

Back in the day people knew how to create a compose key in their keyboards. Depending on your operating system, you program one of your keys to act as a composer and the next two strokes can form any character, so you don't even need to switch languages. That's how one gets ß, ø, °, å, ö, č, etc.

If you're using a phone or tablet or some other little screen you whippersnappers like, I guess you gotta install and app for it.

The goal was a shot going nowhere by Gall that Antonsson sent to the net. Here the highlights of the Malmö 2:0 Falkenberg:

Malmo is 1 of the biggest clubs in Sweden right? i remember (when I was there in 07-09) AIK was pretty huge (maybe just I was staying in Stockholm).
