It seems almost embarrassing to "win" this.

That's basically what it takes for DC to earn points in 2017, lord have mercy

Glad that's over. This might be candidate for the worst game in MLS this season. Despite the 3 points, we are not turning the corner.

"What was the key of the focus?"

Howard: [after a bit of a pause to figuring out what that question means] We'll we've gotta get points you know...

Seems a fitting postgame interview for this one.

God that was awful. Arriola and Canouse are improvements. Mullins looks just lost. Did Miranda piss in Ben's cornflakes?

It would be hard to find a worse game without tuning into the golf channel but they weren't going to get 3 points on their own so take it and a good night to all

Thanks for all the 'pbp.' Sounded like a suck-ass game, but we'll take the 3 points, and sneak out while we can.

Winning 1-0 on the other team's own goal. What an offensive juggernaut!

I'm already seeing the question marks going into next season. Where do we get goals? If Arriola takes over for Sam on the right, we may become better overall, but the goal/assist production in that position may actually go down. Stieber can potentially be an upgrade over Nyarko on the left just by staying healthy. But he'll need to be massive to make up for the lack of goals in other places.

Meanwhile the lack of striker production continues. Brown was not a big enough signing to fundamentally change that. 2 goals from Brown, 1 from Ortiz, 0 from Mullins. Even if everything else on a team is clicking, you will never win with striker production like that. This position is probably Ben's biggest achilles heel. 7 years and he's yet to unlock the necessary production that is required from a #9. Davies, Rafael, Salihi, Arrieta, Pajoy, Santos, Ruiz, EJ, Saborio and now Mullins. You need a 10+ goal scorer at the #9 position every season to be successful. Not sure why Ben is incapable of making it happen.

This was the least inspiring road win since the one shot one goal extravaganza in Montreal last year.

You forget Vancouver this year and the legendary Ortiz dive. That has to be contender. The worst thing about this season is that almost half our points are garbage points. You can count on one hand the number of times we've outplayed the opposition.

Prior to this weekend, you could count on one hand the number of games won by D.C. this year.

This team can't score because for some inexplicable reason, they choose to pass rather than shoot when they get in or near the box.

I long for the good old days with Clyde Simms would let loose with a blast from 10 yards outside the box. At least he tried, and some of those went in.

This team? Shit. The player with arguably the most dangerous foot can't pull the trigger when he's 5 yards inside the box.

Fortunately there was a Bayern-Leverkusen match on at 7 so the game last night won't be the last soccer I'd see if I die right now,
When Shep the wonder dog finished walking this old man, it struck me how his poop bag needed a DC United logo. Collect the whole series with team pictures, individual shots, and own goal highlights. No better way to show your support

And Ben looks all giddy afterwards, ridiculous. Absolute rubbish win. The level in this game was just barely above a college game.

He was giddy, because he was thinking "Holy Shit - Pablo got canned and his record was better than mine -- and they already have a stadium!"

Better to be lucky than good, I guess.
