man it sounds like the Rhinos are dominating
Hey Rocheseter you don't by chance know who is starting for Miami?
I'm guessing that the Rhinos line up is the one listed on Devo's Direct Kick.

the miami fans sound pretty good.

I'm sorry, I don't really know the line-up for Miami. Zinho-Romario-Doyal thats all I Know. But the Rhinos is on Devos Direct Kick.

thats cool. Along with the names you listed I've heard Erush's name mentioned a couple of times (although it seems always to invovle getting into some sort of arguement with a Rhino's player) and El Loco's.

    Its halftime still 1-0 Rhinos
Miami had an excellent chance in stoppage time but Vallow made the save.

Miami are playing 3-5-2 with Romário and El Loco on top.

This is a wake up call for Miami. They thought this league would be easy after the Vancouver game, but now maybe not. Hopefully something positive can come out of this killing.

I think you mean the Montreal game.

I figured this would happen. Rochester is indeed a good team but I think Miami was on a high after tying Montreal 2 weeks ago and also with Romario coming in tonight, believed goals would come easily.

It's still early in the season. We'll see how they perform against the Battery.

Not how you start but how you finish.

It will take time, like all new teams. Throwing 3 new players into the mix this week didn't help chemistry on the young team.

    On to the Battery!

I agree entirely. I didn't get to see the Rochester game, but my impression from the Montreal game was that Miami FC is a very talented team that will need to to develop as a unit. I'm confident they'll be in the championship mix at the end.

Sounds like non-Miami fans are expecting more from the team than Miami fans are by virtue of the fact that they signed Romario and Zinho. Fact is, however, many of these kids are new to the league and the selection is a month and a half old itself. So to expect big results right away is not fair.

Soccer Prime and I both know what it's like to cheer for a new expansion team with high expectations out of the box (ahem... Real Salt Lake, anybody?).

In any event, I watched Miami play against Montreal and they have potential, but to expect them to be better than other USL teams right now isn't fair. They are solid, have some good players, but by no means should anyone expect them to walk into Rochester's home park and register a victory without question. It will be a fun year for you Miami fans, so don't let this one phase you!

    Re: Loco
Yes, the kid falls down a lot. At times it's irritating, but at times wins good penalties. He needs to be smarter about when to draw a foul and when not to in order to avoid breaking up the build up of the attack. I suspect that with Romario and Zinho around him, they'll make it clear to him quickly when his flops are detrimental to the tactical play of the team. He does hustle, however, and that will create opportunities.

That ranked as one of the worst single performances I have ever witnessed and I've sat through the Metros since '96.

I don't care if these guys were around each other for a day or a couple months. They couldn't string one pass together whenever the ball went into Rochester's half.

Loco has skills, but he looks like he's on a mission to socre every goal himself. He's too much flash and dash for me, the coach needs to make him more aware of his wingers and those around him.

Two matches and two poor performances. Hard to imagine they have been training with each other at home and also in Brazil.

Portland should be an interesting experience next week.

Damn, I almost took the night off work for this one

I have kept my expectations low from the beginning really. I watched a crappy Fusion team for 3 years before they finally became a quality side, so I have some patience.
Listening on audio is only relative to what the announcers have to say, so I will refrain from doing too much analysis. I just think it's a bit early to be dismissing the team.

For what it's worth, I posted the audio as a torrent here:
    Miami FC vs Rochester (audio)
The quality isn't as good as my last try (Montreal). I will revert to my old settings next time.
PM me for an alternative download source (low-tech method)

    They never played Vancouver.

It was a bad night. Next time Miami will spank them. Remember this is an expansion team. Nothing has been turned over yet.
