Also Kaoru Mitoma, seems to have a great potential.
Look at his goal against Sendai:

the lack of firepower in the forwards is worrying. at this rate an over age player will be called up (yuma suzuki or koya kitagawa?)

ogawa is gonna take time to find form. he's been barely average for jubilo so far.

Itakura, Sugioka, Inoue and Suga. I like the squad. Better selection than at the senior team.

Koki Ogawa, Shunta Nakamura and possibly an over-age player... I don't feel so desperate for Tokyo 2020.

Shameful display by Sugioka, he came in as a sub in the second half when Japan was 1-0 ahead, and made many blunders which led to Turkey winning 2-1.

He also conceded a penalty that Louis Yamaguchi (the goalkeeper) saved.

such a classy player nakayama. i hope kashiwa continue to play him in midfield.

shihashi and morishima were not bad considering their lack of playing time.

tagawa did more in ten minutes than ogawa. conceded a few fouls but actually got in the faces of the turkish cbs and put them under decent pressure. ogawa was bullied into submission.

miyoshi the most frustrating player i have watched (both for japan and condasole). so careless in possession and slips over all the time. but then scores the goal.

Japan came from behind twice to defeat Portugal 3-2.

Japan was trailing 1-2 and playing with 10 men after their GK Yamaguchi was sent off in the last 10 minutes.

Good performance from the subs Ueda, Endo and Mitoma. Ueda scoring a brace, Mitoma starting the plays which led to the 2 goals, and Endo assisting the 2-2 goal.

Note: Portugal played with their U-19 squad while Japan played with their U-21.

University sport is important in Japan, like in the United States.

Nakayama needs to be placed in DM permanently, he can utilise his ball playing skills in DM more compared to than in CB imo. The thing is, I am not sure who can replace him to partner Nakatani in Kashiwa lol.

Nakatani hasn't started a game in Kashiwa since April.

Hmm, I haven't really watch much of Kashiwa this year. Is Nakatani injured or what? Who has been Kashiwa's CB duo since Apr then?

Kamata and Park. Both Nakatani and Nakayam fell out of favour as the starting CBs.

I heard Nakayama moved to DM permanently, so both Nakatani and Nakayama have been benched from Apr till now?

Sugioka is starting against Canada, let's hope he will make up for his horrendus performance against Turkey.

Nakayama is sometimes benched, sometimes starting at either DM or CB.

It was because of Sugioka's fault which made Tomiyasu confused.

Sugioka's introduction to the team caused a disruption in the whole Japanese defence in that game and turned the game in Turkey's favour.

Tomiyasu, btw, has solid performances over both matches, saving Japan from conceding at least 2 more goals against Portugal.

If I'm not wrong, the ball was stripped of him easily which led to Canada's opening goal.

punished for pissing around with the ball at the back... an obvious weakness of this team.

guys like ogawa, hatsuse, fujitani playing absolute garbage. not sure if matsumoto is even playing.

Underwhelming lineup today in the key match. The coach brought it on himself.
