Youth Player at River Plate Does anyone know who 14 year old Joel Goldstein is from River Plate? He is coming to Maccabi Haifa in Israel for a trial and is highly touted. Mod Edit: This thread will be used to discuss River's youth teams and up-and-coming talent. Thanks, y vamos los pibes!
Re: Youth Player at River Plate If he is highly touted he would not be going for a trial with Maccabi Haifa.
The scout is the one who highly toutes(sp?). Jackie Dahan is one of Maccabi Haifa's lead scouts in South America. Haifa has done very well finding talent in South America: Roberto Colautti Rafael Olarra Dante Lopez (they didn't give him enough time though) Xavier Dirceu Besides this happens a lot. Many talented footballers would leave Argentina for Israel. Juan Pablo Sorin almost did. He was on trial at Bnei Yehuda Tel-Aviv. No matter how talented, most Jewish footballers have no problem playing in Israel, even if they are highly touted. Here are some over the past couple of years: Alexis Weisheim Guillermo Pablo Israelevich Fernando Feligman Carlos Chacana
Re: Youth Player at River Plate never heard of any of the players you have mentioned...i personally dont think he is that good then, like Leon12 said: if he was highly touted he would not be going for a trial with Maccabi Haifa
Re: Youth Player at River Plate To be honest I've not heard of any of those players either. If this kid was genuinely highly rated then River Plate would keep him and/or he would be going to Spain or Italy.
As the post below was talking about a River Plate youth player, I was wondering if anyone knows how Erik Lamela is progressing at the moment. He was the 12 year old Barcelona tried to "sign' from RP a couple of years back. Is he still with RP and cany anyone tell me if he is still rated as potential future star?
Re: Erik Lamela River's ninth division beat Boca 5-1 in the Bombonera on Saturday. Daniel Villalba (2), Emmanuel Morelli (2), and Erik Lamela (1) were the players who scored the goal for the winning side. They all are said to have played well, and are only 14 years old.. Daniel Villalba: He was chosen the Man of the Match. Not only that, but he is also part of the Argentina U15 side. Being 1.56 meters tall, they compare him to Saviola not only because of his height, but also because of his style of play.. Might be an interesting prospect to keep in mind.. Emmanuel Morelli: He is a foward, who scored 2 goals vs. Boca to make it a total of 14 by him this season. Erik Lamela: He is the "famous" youngster that Barcelona wanted in 2004, when he was barely 12. He "supposedly" scored a nice goal. After several pases, he passed a last defender, and scored with his left.
River Plate Youth Team Does anyone have any information on River Plate's Youth sides?? Or there Lower Division team?? I'm looking for any information on a young Salvadoran player called Andrés Flores. He's 17 years old and the last i heard, he was playing with the River Plate Youth teams, and for River Plates seventh division side. Any information would be great, Thanks
Re: River Plate Youth Team Check out this website: http://www.futuromillonario.com.ar/ It has the planteles for each age group, but I couldn't get the link for the 1990 group to work....
Re: River Plate Youth Team Thanks for the link. Is this the only site for River youth?? Because i actually couldn't find his name listed anywhere
Re: River Plate Youth Team Generally speaking, it's not easy to find information on the youth teams here in Argentina. But Olé usually publishes the results and whatnot. You may try searching www.ole.clarin.com.ar for his name or something. There are a ton of Barra sites that may have more info - si hablás castellano.
Re: River Plate Youth Team For some reason the link does not work for me But i can speak Catalan, so if you know of other sites, and could post the link, that would be great Thanks
Re: River Plate Youth Team There used to be a really good magazine called Solo Futbol. It probably stopped existing about 8-10 years ago. It didn't have the quality of El Grafico, but they did an excellent job of covering the inferiores (as well as the ascenso) I still have quite a few copies and sometimes I go back and try to track players that Solo Futbol covered from novena up to primera. One guy that really had a successfil career in inferiores for river was Jose Sand. I think he is still their all time leading goal scorer in inferiores. Wasn't as successful in River's Primera and has played with other clubs in the first division. I wish they would bring that magazine back ...
Re: River Plate Youth Team There is an article in today's Olé about the River youth team: http://www.ole.clarin.com/notas/2007/08/15/01478190.html
Re: River Plate Youth Team If you guys wanna see a couple of their studs from the youth ranks, watch the U-17 WC with Mateo Musacchio and Maximiliano Oliva. Musacchio has already played a few games with River's first squad while Oliva I believe was on trial with Chelsea sometime last year.
Re: River Plate Youth Team For some reason, this website is no longer working for me. Is it just my computer?? Or has it been taken down??
Re: River Plate Youth Team If the primera is utter garbage, right now, at least the inferiores rocked the house. The sexta, septima, octava and novena divisions are all campeones! A trememdous contrast with the so-called professionnal team.
Re: River Plate Youth Team River should recall some of these kids for the remaining games. They'd probably show more heart and desire than some of the 1st team players. On the other hand, keep them where they are. Aguiliar would probably see $$$$$$$$ and sell two or three of them during the break.
Re: Erik Lamela Up! There's more info about this kid (well not that kiddy anymore, he has grown up quite a bit!). As some of you may know it already, the River's youth divisions really shone this year. The sixth, seventh (where Erik Lamela played), eighth and ninth were all campeones! Lamela was a major element to River's success in the seventh division (categoria '92) and in the last game against Gimnasia, he scored two goals, a free-kick and un golazo de rabona! Above the picture. Here's an Ole article: http://www.ole.clarin.com/notas/2008/11/09/futbollocal/01798932.html Here's the video: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/k5mXQblvG5l8skQ99t They were competing with Banfield for the title and they had the last word in the last three fechas!
Erik Lamela "El Nuevo Crack" Looks like Pipo is taking him and "Keko" Villalba to Mendoza. If anyone hasn't seen any clips of Lamela play, check out the clip someone posted of him on Youtube. The kid definitely has skills.
Re: Erik Lamela "El Nuevo Crack" Here's the complete video: http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/septima/video/x7edov_river-campeon-7-division_sport In the same game he put his rabona goal, he scored a very nice free-kick and give an "Riquelme-esque" assist to Villalba.
