Dundee Utd/Dundee FC is a big one, though in recent years it has became Dundee Utd/Aberdeen (the call themselves 'the new firm') There is also a bit of an Aberdeen/Rangers/Celtic grudge match, which stems back to the days of Fergie outwith that you're looking at smaller local rivalries: St. Mirren/Kilmarnock/Morton/Dumbarton Partick/Clyde/Queen's Park Airdie/Motherwell/Hamilton/Albion Inverness/Ross County Though generally lower league team supporters tend to have more of a grudging respect for other teams/supporters and instead vent all of their hatred on Rangers and Celtic. I'd also class St. Mirren/Rangers and Partick as derby's purley due to proximity of the teams, though there is a rather large gulf between the clubs.
there's more hatred between aberdeen - rangers than aberdeen - celtic. i have rangers supporting friends who swear they have it in for aberdeen more than they do celtic.
How on Earth did that happen? Was it due to Aberdeen's success in the 80's with SAF? Thanks again everyone.

The Sheep V Huns match has a real hate to it..not OF hate but #amn close there was a real good write up a few years back in 4-4-2 about it and most if not all of it comes from that tackle...
From what I've seen, Rangers-Aberdeen games are more violent than OF games, especially up at Pittodrie where Aberdeen usually have more of a chance and it's closer game. There could have been plenty players sent off last time.
I remember seeing this past year, can't remember if it was Hearts vs. Celtic or Hearts vs. Rangers; but it was intense and the atmosphere was AWESOME! When you get goosebumps as a neutral via the TV across The Pond, you know you've got somethin' special.
I can say from experience of going to both on numerous occasions that the atmosphere is far more poisoned at a Rangers Aberdeen game than it is at a Rangers Celtic game.
Re: Stand up, if you hate Rangers You can split Scottish football fans into 6 categories. Rangers fans. Celtic fans. Support some other team and hate Rangers more than Celtic. Support some other team and hate Celtic more than Rangers. Support some other team and hate whatever old firm team is doing the best. Support some other team and hate the old firm in equal measure.
