Please use this thread for your rivalry posts.

Keep it civil and the same rules apply for here as they do as the rest of the forum.

Why do non-old firm fans call old-firm fans bigoted, when half you are bigoted against old firm fans?

Funny how the second Walter Smith sends out a team without any Old Firm players, we play well and win...

That's because the Old Firm don't have many good Scottish players.

Edit: The Old Firm don't have many Scottish players.

Some long-time followers of Scotland might say that it's "funny" that Scotland turn it on as soon as it doesn't matter any more.

Against world beater Slovenia... are you serious? have another pint. We are atleast a top 25 ranking and are leagues above them, not to mention there was no pressure at all on the lads.

Interesting coming from a Wiz fan!!! I certainly wouldn't go that far, but Mo will lead the Metros into the playoffs, at his old MLS side's expense.

MoJo did a decent job for Rangers, and there's a nice chapter in a new Rangers book (Ten Days That Shook Rangers, for anyone who's interested) about his signing for the Teddy Bears. Should be interesting to see how he gets on at the MetroStars.

Haha i am a donkey sorry it was the avatar that thorugh me. ok after clearing the egg off my face do you really think the metros have a shot with MO? I think the Metro's are maybe the fifth or sixth best team in playoffs so your gonna need more than big MO.

    Re: Rangers and Celtic Rivalries

    Sounds like a definite must-buy!

I've met Mo a few times, and he's always been very nice. Last time was at an autograph session for kid supporters of the MetroStars a few weeks ago, and as he signed something for my son, I asked him if it was tough leaving the side he followed as a kid. He grinned ear to ear and said, "They made it very easy!"

The MLS playoffs are such a farce (8/12 sides make it), but with all the player contracts owned by the league, rather than the clubs, parity is the rule, so once you get in you've always a chance to win it all. The fact that the Mo-led Metros are dead even with Mo's last side, the Wiz, is making for a nail-biting last weekend.

Not as exciting as the last day of the '04-'05 SPL (no helicopters will be diverted), but thrilling none the less.

Slovenia are a pretty decent side and to go there and win 3-0 is a good score no matter what country you're from. They beat Italy last year.

Rangers and Celtic are the biggest 2 teams in this country but contribute very little when it comes to the national side.

Rangers, to their credit, are trying to do something about that with their youth academy (although I don't think they had the national side in mind when they built murray park).

Chris, I'm going to get that book... the title sums up just how ridiculous things were (and for many fud's, still are).

MoJo did a decent job for MoJo, why shouldn't he have?

Some people - as you well know mate - think that you (Ulster Protestant Rangers fan) and me (Glasgow Catholic Celtic fan) couldn't possibly have a rational discussion.

Like MoJo, neither of us are 'some people'.

    :D

Well, if he doesn't get the job full-time here in NY, Mo Johnston fancies a return to Ibrox. :D
