He made $728,000 at Eintracht Frankfurt last year. Assuming he is making the same, that is $14,000 a week. I have a hard time seeing many MLS teams paying that for a defensive midfielder.

Not bad. A lot more than he made at Houston I'm sure. Is he so ready to reduce his salary by going back to MLS?

I could see an MLS team paying close enough to where it would be worth a move whether under DP salary with some added allocation or a DP salary on a team with one or none. 300k - 500k perhaps...

He may not be a direct replacement for Diskerud, since Stabaek played him as a center back in that Valencia friendly.

He will probably be a "potato" in our thin squad and play all across the midfield + center back. Not ideal, but it will work. And the fans are extremely happy to have signed an American international out of nowhere.

I suspect this is going to work out really well for both sides. Rico needs playing time, and it's hard to imagine him not making a positive contribution at a shorthanded mid-table Tippeligaen team. It seems Stabaek only have 18 players.

Looks like Clark is taking another stab(aek) at a European career.

Yes, we are extremely thin at the moment. If the rumor that we're after an American keeper as well is true, we may very well change our unofficial name from the Swedish Embassy to the American Embassy. (Diskerud, Clark, Erik Benjaminsen)

Dear Sir, I will have to shoot you for that pun.:D

Rico needed a change. 2011 was a wasted year for him, and in the prime of his career no less. Hopefully 2012 will be better. Best of luck to him.

Hey, he is back and playing meaningful soccer again!

Went the 90, picked up a yellow in the 31st minute vs. Aalesund

In their 11th match of the season, Stabaek quadruple their point total with a 4-1 victory over 14th place Lillestrom. Clark and Cunningham each went 90 minutes.

VG rates Clark a 6, his highest mark of the season.
