The kind of match where heroes are made; Bradley's opportunity to engrave himself into the memory of the Gladbach fans. Red alert, some thousand policemen, 50.000 fans in the stadium, 200.000 tickets could have been sold, a strong smell of testosterone in the air. A day for a player who fights battles on a football pitch. Re: Rhine on fire: Bradley at Cologne 3/14 My knowledge of German geography is sketchy: is this a derby of some sort?
Re: Rhine on fire: Bradley at Cologne 3/14 Yes, it is; the most important in German football next to Schalke vs Dortmund. 30 miles from Gladbach to Cologne, and a long and intense history; regional rivals and historic arch enemies. Some hundred stories could be told. "Cologne, Cologne, die Scheisse vom Dom" (literally "Cologne, Cologne, the shit from the dome") was the song Kasey Keller sung for the fans after the home victory in 2005.
Re: Rhine on fire: Bradley at Cologne 3/14 Hope all goes well for Gladbach, I hate seeing them in the position they're in.
Re: Rhine on fire: Bradley at Cologne 3/14 wouldn't it be cool if Keller would fly over, and sing on Bradley + Gladbach with the other fans in the block?
... and then fly over about 10 time zones to paly a game the next day. Or is it week? Whatever, it'd be cool.
Re: Rhine on fire: Bradley at Cologne 3/14 Can't believe it's not on youtube, I only found the other clip: [ame="http://www.myvideo.de/watch/1275304/Nordkurve_nachdem_2_0_gegen_K"]Nordkurve nachdem 2:0 gegen K*** : Video - MGmario - MyVideo[/ame]

Lascho, Who was the player who sprinted over to tell the fans to chill after they threw the flare. I have never seen something like that happen before. (the player talking the fans down, not the flare.)
That was Sascha Rösler, last year's vice captain and central midfielder; Bradley's precessor. He was a key player last year, especially with his attitude and leadership, but he had problems to adjust to the speed of the Bundesliga. Meyer sacked him out of the team after he took over from Luhukay, he was transfered to 1860 München (BL2) in winter.

I think actual start time for this game will be 10:30 am EDT, as the U.S went on daylight savings time but Europe won't for another couple weeks. Edit: some potential streams here: http://soccertv.page.tl/Germany.htm?PHPSESSID=4e178d11df1c1e5e580f154e8542a352
:Sigh: can anyone of you lucky enough to get a sopcast or bwin stream tell us whats happening.. pleaseeee im stuck at work...on a saturday!
Anyone who can understand German can listen to live radio simulcast of all the games here: http://www.wdr.de/radio/wdr2/ligalive/index.phtml They basically just switch back and forth between all the games depending on where the action is. Better than nothing, but not so hot. Well, it's a radio station, so it's more just periodic updates between songs.
I'm not sure why GolTV wouldn't choose this game when it could involve an American and 3 Canadians by my count.(Is Gol TV not available in Canada? ) I can't even find the Bundesliga simulcast!
