Great news if true. The awkward waiting around and training but not playing until the first window after the 18th birthday is the great pitfall of sign-abroad plan. The sooner Pulisic gets in action the better.
Yeah, Haji Wright will fall in that territory. He turns 18 next March but that will be after the DFB registration period closes. So he won't be able to play his first official Schalke match at any level until the 2016-2017 season.

Officially cleared to play for my new club Borussia Dortmund! Amazing experience training with the first team today! #BVB— Christian Pulisic (@pulisic) February 10, 2015
That's too long for a player. This development gap needs to be fixed. Play with Galaxy for a few years, then go to Europe. Wonder what his pay will be.
From what I understand, he basically had a Generation Adidas type offer from the Galaxy, but he and his brother were just dead set on Europe.
So that would be around 100K? I understand the European fascination but for me a quick path to first team football in a lower league at a club that values you is better than a youth team at a super club in a big league where your competition is 10x times harder to first team. Especially if you have to wait over a year or two to gain the fruits of that supposed super clubs superior training staff.
I dunno if that's the case with the Galaxy, they told Paul Arriola he wouldn't get any playing time and their roster is stacked
Back to the cap tie thing: Pulisic was playing for our YNT's prior to becoming a citizen of another country. Doesn't that mean he is cap tied, or do the U-17 things not count?
By telling Paul Arriola he wouldn't get first team minutes doesn't absolve the team from offering a path to first team. You're not guaranteed first team minutes just a logical way to get them. Haji is a much better prospect than Paul.
No. FIFA considers citizenship that is obtained through birthplace or family heritage to be already in place, even if the player hasn't gone through the process of obtaining an actual passport. Any citizenship that comes from a naturalization or adoption process is the area where FIFA talks about "acquiring a new citizenship." So Pulisic would be eligible for a one time switch to Croatia in the future, if he so desires, assuming one of his grandparents was born in what is now Croatia (which has been reported).
There also was no G2 when Paul was with the Galaxy, and he eventually would've seen some time for sure with some of the subs we've had out on the wings the past couple years.

BVB committed US super-Bubi Pulišić Christian Pulišić (16) reinforces the BVB! The US youngster for some time already trained with the juniors Dortmund and has now been definitively withdrawn under contract. When Twitter announced Pulišić: "It's official, as of today I am playing for Borussia Dortmund" To celebrate the attacking midfielder trained for the first time under Jürgen Klopp with the first team.
Now was training with the first team Klopp saying, 1) welcome to Dortmund, maybe one day in the future you'll be here! 2) You might be good enough to be here soon, baptism by fire. 3) other option
Klopp was asked about Pulisic in the press conference: "A very good player. He belongs to the generation of young players that we've talked about in the club during the winter break. A great player. Attacking midfielder. He didn't leave a negative impression although there wasn't much space in the game we played, which is a clear sign of quality. I believe it's best when the young players can develop in a quiet environment - this isn't always possible, have a look at Ödegaard - but we will make this possible for him and give him the time necessary to develop. He did good, nothing more to say about this.
He can play on the flanks, but it would be a travesty to not have him at the 10....he's the best US youth prospect I've ever seen and in a position that we lack
