Kind of hoping Chelsea lose this and plenty more without puli. They're definitely playing some boring football right now
The much-maligned Barkley looks good out there. He's providing the CP-type linking that they seem to desperately need.
And they lost in overtime 0-1 Extremely poor performances from everyone. Especially Willian. CHO was pretty mediocre. If this keeps up, they will wish for Pulisic to get back soon.
Agreed. They had to burn a sub on Emerson to replace James, who was playing well. But that's not much of an excuse.
I wouldn't go that far. Lol But in games like these where the opponents are more than happy to put 10 behind the ball, you need some offensive creativity in the final third. With Mount as CAM, you will never get that. He lacks creativity and vision. His tendency when he gets the ball is shoot. He almost never combine with other attackers. Pulisic always look for that quick 1-2 touches to break down defenses.
"Overtime"? I think you are referring to "stoppage time." There is nothing called "overtime" in soccer. If the game is tied at the end of a knockout match, they go to "extra time." But you probably already knew that so I will just apologize for being overly picky.
Luckily, it seems he might not miss too many games. From that same article: Chelsea plays at Leicester on Feb. 1 and its next league game after that is not until Feb. 17 when it hosts Manchester United. Manager Frank Lampard said Friday the break “might fall at a nice time and give us a bit more to play with.” He added: “Hopefully he will be back for the other end of that break. It’s in line with how we expected him to be.”
Alternatively, added time. We used to call it injury time because that was the only reason time would be added on.
Yep, Added Time. Although it starts to get confusing when you start to talk about "Added Time" vs. "Extra Time" because, by definition, they are both the same (or very similar) thing.
Rashford was carrying a single stress fracture in his back, now has a double stress fracture after Wolves game. Expected to be out for 2-3 months. Also has piece of floating bone in his ankle requiring non-intrusive surgery to remove. Been playing thru immense pain to help. https://soccer.nbcsports.com/2020/01/19/manchester-united-marcus-rashford-injury-update-solskjaer/
And with Willian lackluster performance the other day, we might see Pulisic and CHO on the field together sooner than expected. They really are the future wingers for Chelsea. Though I must admit, CHO hasn't shown me much of his supposed talents. But the kid is still only 19, so he got many years ahead of him to develop.
