Even if he stays there, Puli's going to get sufficiently challenged by Pedro, Willian, and CHO once he's back.

Pedro and Willian are on their last legs, they're on their ways to the doors.

No pressure, or he doesn't truly rate Pulisic? He expects and demands goals from other players. It's not what is said, but what is 'unsaid' that's key.

"...as a team and from the wide areas and certainly from the striking areas, if players like Mason [Mount] and Ross [Barkley] have those attributes. Ruben [Loftus-Cheek] when he was in the team last year has those sorts of attributes.

Maybe, but last season Willian had a goal or assist per 211' and Pedro had one per 178'. Basically another 90' of Puli without stats, and he's entering their realm.

You guys have got to be joking, right? They just signed him for a ton of money, played him in all 3 matches thus far, and you think he's already resigned to the bench? Smh.

C'mon man. Did you not read what the coach didn't say?

Good first half from the young American. Had a hand in the first goal, and the assist on the second. He's created 2 or 3 other moments of danger and put the ball on a platter for Jorginho who made a right mess of it. Could do better with his movement at times, especially when Chelsea win the ball back. There's times where he could spin the fullback and get in behind when Chelsea win the ball back in the defensive third.

Another sub par game for CP. He's going to need to do quite a bit more to continue to get those starts. But they way Willian is playing, CP will continue to get plenty of minutes in the short term. Once CHO comes back, CP needs to step it up fast.

He was very good today, he had I think 1 misplaced pass and put it on the platter for his teammates over and over again. More of this and pitch in a few goals and the Chelsea fans will be very happy.

I think he did fine—miles better than last week. If his teammates put away a few more of the chances he created then he’s near MotM.

This was Norwich though, so he still has a lot to do to stay a fixture in the starting 11.

Would you mind elaborating on what he did that was subpar? I missed a few minutes but from what I saw I would have considered him to have had a good game overall. He was involved in the first goal, assisted the second, set up at least two other chances and took good care of the ball. There was one instance where he could have made a better decision in the final third and the bad turnover at midfield that resulted in the counter for the third goal. His chemistry with teammates was clearly the best its been in a Chelsea shirt and he forced several bad passes that led to turnovers.

Maybe I should be asking what we consider “par” around here?

CP and Mount had nearly identical games, other than CP getting the assist and Mason getting the goal. Both had a PA% of 84.2. CP had more touches(63) and more key passes(3). Mount had more shots(5 to 2).

IMO, as an attacker, as long as you are at least average in the run of play(he was better) and get an assist/goal. You’re above par. He was well above that mark.

Dude.... without him in the field Chelsea maybe lose. Goals are not the only measure of a player, he did very well today.

Thanks to this assist he's matching Pedro/Willian level of production last season (this one they've barely played):

Pulisic = 1 goal or assist per 186'
Pedro = 1 goal or assist per 178'
Willian = 1 goal or assist per 211'

Because if we do not have an irrational emotional breakdown that CP isn’t playing like Messi then it is a waste of a weekend
