Incidents like this have been happening for years. I was at a game over 10 years ago when a chunk of concrete fell from the underside of the upper deck. From what I understand, this is not a rare occurrence.

Sooner or later, someone will get seriously injured, the city will get sued for big $$, and they'll have to condemn the stadium. Whether DC United will have a new stadium before then...I don't think so.

I recall that being reported in the Post back when it happened.

I was involved in the incident DCU refers to. I posted some about it at the time but I think that item was lost in a server crash some time ago. Suffice it to say United need new digs.

Complaints, complaints, complaints! Suck up, people, and go to the god-damn stadium every game, and shake, jump up and down, and let the loose the concrete fall as a preemptive measure!

    Was it conctrete?

I could be wrong, but I thought it was a square part of the jumping stands, and someone went and stood in it while stading on the ground (field) as a joke and people took pictures. [I am sure there is a picture somewhere on BS, try Barra Brava forum]

Oh for god's sakes, yes, this was discussed here in detail back when it happened. Yes, people here are "aware" of the incident, seeing as several regular posters (including one of our mods) stand each game right where this happened. And it wasn't a hole in the concrete, but in the metal flooring of the bouncing stands.

Did anyone hear Christian Gomez spit on C.J. Brown in a playoff match?

Today's the final day for bids on the Pontiac Silverdome.

About six months ago the city wanted $17.5million, but the potential buyer for the 125 acres said the price was too high.

Now, I admit that the commute would be a bitch, but at least DCUnited would have a stadium.

The question is: has anyone ever sighted a Huserbison? (Is that like some kinda Wildebeaste of the urban New Yuck area?)

What the hell? Alaksa and Hawaii? Hopefully we'll never get a Presidential or Vice Presidential candidate from either state.

You don't spot the Huserbison. The Huserbison spotting you is the last thing that happens before you die.

Even Chuck Norris doesn't cross the Huserbison.

Nobody outside of the DC United community hears about these kinds of incidences - I'm not wishing for anybody to get hurt in December, but I think it will take something happening during the EagleBank Bowl on Dec 29th before the city govt and stadium authorities actually sit up and take notice
