Depleted RSL hits the road to face New England Revolution By Austin Facer May 11, 2017 5:25 p.m Deseret News
So are they gonna get Lee Nguyen to sing the Japanese national anthem before the game? When you're big in Japan, tonight Big in Japan, be tight Big in Japan, where the Eastern sea's so blue Big in Japan, alright Pay, then I'll sleep by your side Things are easy when you're big in Japan When you're big in Japan...
Im not sure why Lee, He's not Japanese but of Vietnamese decent. However Diago is Japanese...let him sing
In their last eight at @GilletteStadium, the #NERevs are undefeated. https://t.co/WEj6sSDVUE— New England Revolution (@NERevolution) May 12, 2017
High 40s and serious rain. Should be a beautiful night They even moved the Red Sox game up to the afternoon to avoid the storm
On the subject of Japan, here's a trivia question: the Revs have two players born in Japan. The first is obvious, but who's the second?
Tierney/Anguou starting together for the first time since being exposed in Dallas. At least the slick field will probably negate Tierney's lack of speed. But we also have to listen to Brad and Paul gush about his "cultured left foot"
I was at that game... somehow teenager me was able to make a quick exit on Mother's Day to go to the game. It was so wet, but so fun!
Looking forward to Brad Feldman's opening comment, quick neck turn, awkward smile, into his seriously listening but not really listening expression.
Is it bad that I am really happy that the revs are up 4-0 in the 60th minute and looking really good but I know we are like 10 mins away from heaps making a change to screw up this chemistry which will piss me off?
Well it was a good overall revs team performance against RSL's B+ team. They had to win and they did, emphatically no less. It was over at the half, which is great. Now, please repeat that with some consistency!
Solid game & win, lads. The change is soooo enjoyable for a change! Pls. keep it up for the remainder of the 2017 season!
Man, the Revs should have Japanese Heritage Night more often. Or change the Field Turf before every game.
Earth to Heaps - One thing that I would hope Heaps sees, but somehow doubt it, is that we flat out are more dangerous when Diego plays AM. We saw it in Seattle and again last night. We simply score goals with that formation. Also, stop yanking Caldwell. He deserves to finish games and is doing a very good job. In face, I prefer him to Koussai if I had to pick one. Yes RSL stinks but we've lost to bad teams before. The point is, having Diego at AM is a working formation...better than others. STAY WITH IT HEAPS Defense is still shaky IMO
Whole reason they won is it's the first game I attended this season. I tell you, I'm magic. That was a classic case of a team figuring out early what's going to work and then going after relentlessly. Get down the wing, cross into space, get multiple guys attacking hitting the gaps. Two thoughts on the defense: 1) Anguoa showed some distribution skills, particularly in the 2nd half. Connected one ball all the way to the forward line, which is something we almost never see from the Revs. 2) Dellamea looks great when attackers come right at him or he can go right at attackers. RSL didn't move him around and force him to make choices. Basically he looks like a good defender against bad teams and sometimes like a bad defender against good teams, which is probably standard for a defender on a team floating somewhere in the middle.
I thought Row was playing centrally and Diego and Scotty were outside. I was about to post the same thoughts but inserting Rowe instead of Diego.
You may be right. Thats what they show on the MLS site. It's hard to tell by watching since theyre all all over the place anyway. I do know that as much as I like Lee, I dont like him as the lone AM. He seems to slow things down too much for me It was a pleasure to watch the attack when they're on. I just wish it was every game they bring it. They can beat anybody when they play like that on attack. Defense still scares me. Sometimes they just get lost
