Old thread here. Apparently we should hear something about our newest addition today. 971420182844383232 is not a valid tweet id
Wow, gotta be quick - the tweet I quoted that is no longer valid was deleted within minutes of posting - here's a screen cap from Tweetdeck, with the translation
Looks like they reposted - this time more cleary implying that Caidcedo's rumored signing ended the Revs pursuit of Moreno. 971430155443843074 is not a valid tweet id
Welp, didn't see that one coming. So about those trade wins blowing out of New England, @samstejskal & @PaulTenorio confirm the Revs are shopping Krisztian Nemeth (Peter Vermes, pick up the phone)https://t.co/Ygi8EpRJ4j— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) March 7, 2018
Says on the MLS website that we're now shopping Nemeth and may have to eat some salary on him. Is anybody else worried that in Friedel we've got a tin-pot dictator who'll savage morale on the team before the season is three games old?
Only reason to shop Nemeth is because he is the only player besides Lee that really has value enough to open cap space and get something decent in return. That said the Revs will probably trade him for money and then do nothing with it. Other than that Nemeth is arguably the best all around offensive threat on the team. Bunbury and Agudelo should go first. I would bet he gets 10 goals this year for whomever he ends up with
Well, we have no idea how well Nemeth might be for us, since he's played like 200 minutes the whole time he's been here. I thought the Revs were all about "value" signings? Even when they do splash the cash, they still can't get it right.
He was a stud for KC. The brief times he has played he has been dangerous. It boggles my mind how Agudelo and Bunbury start over Nemeth and Lee. Winning is the bottom line and the later two players give you a better chance
I looked it up. He's played 177 minutes for the Revs. $1.0 million/year is $29,411 per game. Nemeth has been under contract for 12 games, meaning the Revs have paid him $352,941 thus far. That's $1,994.02 per minute played.
He's now apparently old so it's OK.* *This on Twitter from a guy who can't say anything bad about the Revs and was literally crowing about this pick-up in August.
Funny, in a sad Revsy way, that his player profile on Revs site still has him in SKC kit for the big "action" photo. https://www.revolutionsoccer.net/players/krisztian-nemeth Also - Nemeth had auspicious debut-as-starter on 9/17/2017 with early 11th minute red card. How is is that Revs want to part with that? The spate of red now seems like it is their preferred modus operandus. I really would have liked to see what he can do. Seems like he is a talent.
Just noticed this last point in Sigal's tweet - re: Angking surgery. I missed that bit of news somewhere along the way. Last 10 days with #NERevs1.) Nguyen still wants out2.) Nemeth reportedly being shopped around3.) Dielna and Delamea red cards in 2-0 season-opening loss vs. Philly4.) Angking, bright HG player, out indefinitely from surgeryVery early in 2018 #MLS season, but tough spell.— Jonathan Sigal (@JonathanSigal) March 7, 2018 MLS Injury report lists him only as out due to "illness" - https://www.mlssoccer.com/injuries
I'm not good at this optimism stuff but here goes... Lee was upset that Nemeth was sitting on the bench making 2x what Lee makes. Revs are moving Nemeth to bring Lee back into the fold... Nope, I don't believe it.
Won’t confirm or deny a specific rumor but we should have a new signing to announce this week, hopefully tomorrow https://t.co/L4oXjOxJ6M— Brian Bilello (@RevsPrez) March 7, 2018
So if we lose Lee and Nemeth, the former effectively whether we trade him or not, and the latter via proper trade, we will have actively downgraded our offense this offseason, yes? I mean, Penilla is new blood, but we’ll have gotten rid of all our viable starting forwards and proto-forwards other than Teal. Seriously, wtf?
