Hmmm, more than a couple of ways to interpret those numbers.

The Revs have a $2 million loss in operating revenue, which seems about right to me. There are 6 teams (RSL,KC,DCU,SEA,ORL and NE) who range between a $2m profit and a $2m loss. At the other end of the spectrum, Toronto, NYCFC, Chicago and Montreal all lose more than $10m, with Toronto nearly twice that.

9 teams have $40m or more in revenue, with the big guns Atlanta (78) the 2 LA teams (64 Galaxy, 50 LAFC). Seattle and Portland (47 each and then NYC (45) Toronto and KC (41 each) and DC (41) round out the high end. The Revs bring in 29 million, and could probably do better, given the size of their market and the potential. But after that, the drop off is steeper, with 9 teams ranging from 24m (MIN) to Columbus and Colorado at 18m each.

More than half the teams lost money last year?

Looks like only 4 teams were $2M or more in the black - but, I guess for most clubs, that's pretty insignificant when the franchise value goes up %30.
