Maybe we should start a grass-roots email campaign, asking Burnsie himself about this stuff. And asking questions that no one in the media will ask, like most of the talking points on this board. The last time we did this (Joe Public), he got all huffy and flustered and defensive. If you can't take a little heat from your fans when the team isn't doing well, you're in the wrong business.
What is his email address? He has no Twitter handle; I don't think he's on social media at all. Maybe create a Twitter account for him - use his email address, then he will get the "welcome to Twitter" email with credentials. Even if he never tweets - at least then there would be a handle to use for Burns in addition to Bilello's @RevsPrez handle. (Brian gets a lot of noise on his feed that rightfully should be directed to a GM-level person.) Even if he never tweets, having a twitter handle in his own name that is filling up with fan input is a form of pressure unto itself. At at minimum, it would certainly be fun to watch.
Sounds from what he says about Tierney that he's sitting because he's passing his sell-by date, rather than carrying a knock.
LOL! I had forgotten about that! I don't remember if I ever sent an email, but if I did, I never heard back from him. Let's see how the Open Cup goes. If we manage to beat the MetroFilth, then we've got a lower-league team (who we should beat, even if it is away from home, no excuses). So then it would be a final vs LA, SJ, KC or Dallas, probably away. I don't like our chances playing a Cup Final in any of those places if we can't even win run-of-the-mill league games away from home, even to the bad teams.
So what was in Nguyen's post? All I saw was a generic picture and a few random comments from various haters. Can someone read the tea-leaves on this?
I posted his Address on the boards probably 7 or 8 years ago and I believe he posted on the boards or emailed me back and said he did not appreciate that i did that. WHAAAAAAAAAA. just looked could not find it
Source: DC United showing strong interest in NE Revs Kei Kamara.— MLS Transfers (@MLSTransfers) July 11, 2017
If Heaps isn't going to change his strategy to match his players, then moving Kei is probably worthwhile since we'll never make proper use of him. But I have next to no faith that we'll get anything useful in return because our FO is crap.
one of the three teams that is worse than us with less to offer is interested in Kei. Guessing they offer Draft picks, GAM, TAM, SHAM, Wham bam thank you Ma'am and an allocation
Yeah, we'll trade Kai for "resources that we can use to make a major offseason signing," and he will score a key goal to knock us out of playoff contention. Just like Charlie Davies did last yer (although his was an assist)
MLS Secondary Transfer Window runs from July 10 – Aug. 9, 2017 (only in-contract players subject to the window restriction. Out-of-contract can be transacted at any time.) https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017...know-about-2017-mls-secondary-transfer-window 2nd-last place NE Revs activity through day 10 - nothing. This page is kinda funny in a sad way: https://www.mlssoccer.com/transactions/2017/summer-transfer-window-tracker/new-england-revolution ....and that's all there is on the page. At #NERevs training: Unidentified signing, presumably, talking with Mike Burns & assistant coach Tom Soehn. Revs tight-lipped on who it is.— Jonathan Sigal (@JonathanSigal) July 26, 2017
Why be tight lipped? Because if the author can't recognize him or they aren't acknowledging, then he must be on trial? But he says signing? Huh?? Classic Revs
One of the things I hate about Twitter is that 140 characters is often not enough for anything other than a vague, confusing comment. So is he saying that there was a guy training with the Revs who might be their next signing? Not that I expect the writer to recognize every player the Revs might have their eyes on, but by the fact that they felt they needed to trial him says that he's not anything close to a "real deal" type who can come in and immediately make the team better. Did Dellamea, Angoua or Kouassi have to trial before they were signed? Or was it a guy on the sidelines, watching training, talking to Burns and/or Soehn? If so, how do we even know he was a player. Somehow. I'm thinking it's the first scenario, where we get a guy who might be good enough to compete with JeVaughn Watson for his job next spring....
Breaking News: Revs add Daigo Kobayashi, coming back of the injury list, adding depth to midfield just in time for late season push. GM Burns is quite satisfied and is resuming his hibernation. Sigh....
"Unidentified signing," i.e. Donnie Smith with a bag over his head. Hey, he's a signing, just not a recent one. And with the bag, no one can identify him.
