Behold. Revolution Stadium Groundbreaking "12-24 months" Part XV. Over SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED POSTS and counting ...
This series of threads is going to get super funny once we get inside the 12-24 years window. We're now well into year 7. And a quick reminder of where this all started.
Man there are some former posters that haven't been seen in a while in that 2010 thread! I know Bigsoccer is just one sample size but I wish we had kept adding posters to that base instead of the exodus that happened.
Wow, the more things change.... You could cut and paste 90% of those posts into the current thread and never know the difference. But this time for sure, it's really going to happen. I can feel it!
I shouldn't post this here, I shouldn't post this here ... God Damn it. From today's Grant Wahl mailbag.
Anyone who has doubted the construction of a new stadium should be prohibited from attending the new stadium for "12-24 months," how 'bout dat?
so you want average attendance in the new stadium to be in the 3 digit realm for the first 1-2 years?
For how long? When it was said over 6 years ago? When it was mentioned 5 years ago? 3 years ago? Because all of those were over 12-24 months...
Anyone who has ever expressed doubts would be part of the proposed stadium ban. The length of the ban would be the same as the length of the doubting of the construction of the new stadium, with an opportunity for the doubters to repent for their cynicism.
That sounds reasonable. I mean as long as those that kept saying things were alright as we continued to suck will do the same. This way we keep the stadium completely empty.
I'm not worried about any stadium ban for us Doubting Thomases. None of us will live long enough to see it anyway.
I'm willing to personally apologize to the Krafts, and maybe do a penitential shot or two, but that's all.
Makes sense. I heard Apple did the same thing with their release of the iPhone 7. Only true believers were allowed to buy it on the release date, all others had to wait. After all, we are only customers. We live to be punished, not catered to. We should be grateful for the opportunity to hand our money to the Krafts, regardless of the product we get in return, right?
"...we may not be too far away..." - That might as well be the Revolution's official outlook on life, the universe, and everything.
Lifetime ban from the new stadium for you! Have you considered that the delay in finding the right location for the new stadium is related to what's best for the Revs brand, and the fans? Did Apple release the prototype of the iPhone 7 to the customers, or did it take time to develop it? Perhaps there were loyal Apple customers that were waiting with anticipation for the new iPhone. Yet it's Apple that decides when the product is ready to be released for public consumption. That doesn't mean that those customers aren't "catered to." After all, what's the point in releasing a product, if it isn't ready? Have you considered that a bad stadium location would also alienate fans that desire to be catered to?
Yes, I have considered all that. Have you considered what would happen to Apple if they said they were going to release the next iPhone in 12-24 months (sorry, "hope to release"), and then seven years later were no closer to being ready to release it? Yes, I know the SSS has more obstacles. I'm not saying they need to break ground tomorrow just to satisfy their customers. I'm saying they need to stop talking about it altogether until they have some actual progress to show the public. Until then, we have the right to doubt them when they say, "Trust us, we're getting close."
