Let's use this thread to compile relevant news and websites regarding new stadium talks. I'll start. Save the Vikes is a website devoted to lobbying for a new Viking Stadium http://www.savethevikes.org/
Great link. Hope all of you living in Minnesota sign up and email your state reps and local reps if required. The Vikings stadium is the best opportunity in the foreseeable future for the Twin Cities to get into MLS . . . IMHO.
This has to be good news: Beer sales at TCF Bank Stadium Approved Have to believe this was a necessary administrative step in the right direction if the Vikings are going to end up playing at The Bank while the new dome is built.

Man . . .THAT IS BEAUTIFUL. I hope the DFL and GOP get their heads out of the arses and get this done. Saw a nice looking soccer field in one of the stadium pics. Skol Minnesota!
I might have to agree http://www.twincities.com/vikings/c...than-dozen-amendments-propose-bill?source=pkg
MLS was only a ploy to convince the politicians that the new stadium was going to be used outside 8 games a year. Cant believe people fell for zygi crap.
Another downtown stadium? Somebody wants one http://www.bizjournals.com/twinciti...2/mn-united-tour-mls-kansas-city-stadium.html
Another stadium article but his time Twins officials were reported being there with United. http://blogs.mprnews.org/stadium-wa...-minneapolis-pro-sports-stadium-in-the-works/
It sounds more and more that the Vikings used the MLS for the public funding for the stadium for the Vikings and not a multi-use stadium for MLS but only for the Vikings. However, thing can be exciting still with the push by the 2020 partnership and Minnesota United FC owner William McGuire. Seems the United have their eye on MLS promotion but doesn't want to show their cards yet, since they would want to negotiate the entrance fee. It sounds very encouraging hearing that the "Twins" are also all behind the Farmers Market Soccer Stadium. Being born and raised in Minnesota, I would love to see an MLS team in Minnesota. It appears of the remaining candidate cities Minneapolis is number one on the list. I would like to ask Minnesota fans what would your hope be the name for club when time comes to past that MLS grants a team. Since they seems to be already two clubs carrying the "United" name (D.C. United and maybe Miami United) would thing they would want something different. If I could start a poll I would but I not sure how too. Anyways here are ten names to consider: Minnesota Kicks FC (I personally loves this one, brings back great memories). Minnesota Stars FC Minnesota Norsemen FC Minnesota Moose FC Northstar Minnesota SC Minnesota Fighting Pikes FC Minnesota Thunder FC Minnesota Storm FC Minnesota Voyageurs FC Minnesota Explorers FC I would to hear your thoughts.
I was thinking of the following names. All in good fun. Twin City FC Twin Cites FC Minnesota SC Sota SC Minnesota Farmers FC 10,000 Lakes FC
I like the sound of Voyageurs FC! Reminds me of historic clubs like Bolton Wanderers or the Blackburn Rovers, but it's distinctly Minnesota.
Here's some ideas for the "Minnesota Voyageurs FC" crest. Can't decide which color scheme is best: #1) Maroon and Gold. #2) Purple and Gold. #3) Blue, Sky Blue and Gold.

http://kstp.com/news/stories/S3271540.shtml?cat=127 The owner of the Minnesota United professional soccer team is looking at land right next to Target Field to possibly build a new stadium. Bill McGuire could also have an ally in the owners of the Minnesota Twins. 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has confirmed that officials of the United and the Twins recently traveled to Kansas City to look at a $200-million, 18,000 seat stadium that hosts a Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise. McGuire could be trying to beat the owner of the Vikings, Zygi and Mark Wilf, to the punch and land an MLS franchise before the Wilfs bring a team here to play in the new Vikings stadium when it opens in 2016. Right now, the United and Twins officials are only exploring this possibility and do not have a timeline or a cost estimate. The last MLS franchise awarded to Orlando, Florida cost $60-million just to get the team to play there. A spokesperson for the Vikings tells us the "Wilfs are actively pursuing an MLS franchise and met with the league commissioner just last week." The Wilfs have a five-year, exclusive option to bring a team into the new Vikings stadium.
*A note that should be placed on all expansion threads, all NFL owners who are trying to get government money to help pay for their stadium's say they want an MLS team to play in there. It is hard to justify getting millions of taxpayers dollars to help build a building that has only 10 guaranteed events in it a year. So they give lip service to MLS and its fans until they get their stadium then you rarely hear about it again.
