Wouldn't they be nuts if it isn't Paul Ritchie?

According to comments from the news conference, they want someone who can go beyond what Rennie was able to do. Someone who can "see eye-to-eye" with anyone other coach in CONCACAF. I doubt a coach with a year or two's experience is what they're after.

That's assuming Paul Ritchie couldn't make more money as an assistant coach in Vancouver than he would as a head coach in Cary. (and what jobs he may or may not be offered).

As one of my BS lurking friends suggests:

    Carla Overbeck.

Honestly, I think she'd be a great assistant coach.

I would like to see a female coach be successful, and the area has plenty of former players. If we ever got on TV, I hope they could call Julie Foudy if she doesn't stick with ESPN to call games. Other teams fans complain that ours are biased.

If this guy is coming in, I like the high praise from Redknapp. A line of youngsters from Tottenham's academy would be nice to see come to Cary. Personally, I'd like to see one of our two assistants get a chance if they don't follow Rennie to Vancouver.

hudson, is a top class coach. Harry Rednapp called him a young Mourinho. Would be good to see him coaching in the NASL. Might get to see some future Spurs Premier league players coming with him.

I think Bader's the obvious choice from within the organization, but I suspect somebody external will get an offer before he does.

Hudson would be a perfect fit for the Railhawks, his dad was a superstar and is in both the Chelsea and stoke hall of fames. I saw Hudson was actually born in the U.S. He is also doing his UEFA pro licence which only a handful of the top coaches in the world are invited on to. It means he can coach in the Champions League and premier league. Also heard though how some big European teams are after him. Nice to see what happens with this one

I like the sound of Preki. I wonder if he would do NASL?

Well, Curt Johnson does have a long history with both Preki and Zavagnin through the Wizards.

Preki is a fine coach. He got fired from Chivas USA because he could "only" getting them to the playoffs. Hows that going now? And TFC is just a insane asylum, seriously, what a disaster. 5 years and no playoffs.

I am sure Preki or Zavagnin (current SKC asst) would do great.

Yeah, I don't hold Chivas against him at all. Not sure what's up with him and TFC. Really, his record sounds more like he may have trouble dealing with management than actually being a count against him as a coach - which, unfortunately, is worse; a coach who can't quite succeed at a higher level can still be great at a lower one, but a coach who can't get along with his boss still won't when the stakes are lower.

Or it could just mean Chivas USA and TFC are incompetent. Which seems more likely.

...given which two teams we're talking about, I suppose it does.
